Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jams often with no easy way to clear it I bought my Bostitch BT1855 brad nailer one year ago, used it on approximately 5 projects and all of the sudden got my first brad jam. I was even using Bostitch 18 gauge brads. Unfortunately the brad and piston get wedged together in the nose/tip, with no real way of pulling out the jammed brad (despite what the instruction booklet shows). Getting out the jammed brad basically mars the nose/tip and milled channel. I thought since Bostitch primarily made pneumatic nailers that I was buying a high quality tool, but this is not the case at all. This thing is a piece of junk. I will call the manufacturer tomorrow, but they will probably try to get me to pay for the repairs...on a basically brand new tool! August 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I could select 0 Stars!! I am a professional carpenter. We have tried and tried to use these and they have all broken within the first box of nails. We don't abuse our tools and can't seem to keep one of these things going. I guess I will have to switch brands and hope for better. We do have 6 of these and all have had the same problem. Worst part is Bostitch claims the driver is a serviceable part. (as in the same as a filter or something expected to need replacement) This means they will not return or replace them they charge you to fix them. February 12, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very close to perfect I purchased this gun for a great price at my local Home Depot. I had some trim work to complete and my old gun finally gave up on me. The gun has worked very well for me in the few months that I've owned it. It has not jammed and I appreciate the feature that stops the gun from firing when you are out of nails. My old gun would keep firing until I finally realized it was not shooting nails. I gave it 5 stars but improvements could still be made. I think Bostitch can improve the nail depth dial. It is a little tough to dial in the correct depth since the dial feels lose and it takes several revolutions to see a difference in nail depth. It would be nice for the dial to click or at lease have a bit of tension so it can be dialed in with ease. Overall though I would recommend this gun. The price, weight and performance are all Excellent. September 17, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by nailer or jammer? This gun jams on as many nails as it successfully drives. Hate this gun more than I can say. I would just use it to nail my skull and put me out of my misery.....but it would jam. October 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by inexpensive, broke after 4 small projects I got this as a gift (bought in the store) as my first pneumatic nailer, and I loved it. I was able to build a couple cabinet drawers that needed replacing, and put up some cabinet crown molding. It truly made a 2-person job a 1-person job. After owning it for about a year and using it for the three above-mentioned projects, it died. I'm assuming an o-ring blew out near the trigger based on the symptoms and the troubleshooting guide. I returned it to Home Depot and found it isn't carried in the store anymore, and the customer service associate couldn't find any SKU. Despite this, I was given an exchange credit to buy a different nailer, so I bought the DeWalt 18ga one. When this Bostitch worked, it worked reasonably well, however the plastic covered tip was large enough that it was difficult to get into the little parts of the crown molding and made nailing it difficult. I wouldn't recommend this nailer because mine lasted for only a few jobs, nor would I recommend it for any actual detail work because of the large tip. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Can't go wrong with this gun I've had this gun for about 5 years now and can't begin to guess how many nails I have shot through it. It is tried and true, used and abused. A very very good gun especially for the price! It really deserves 4.5 stars, better than "good" but still below "outstanding" mainly due to the gun will double fire occasionally though not enough to pass on the purchase of such a great tool. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by buyer beware I just bought this and with in the first day of a major project the thing jams, have to take the head off to get the brad out and no sooner did I get it all but back together the thing jams again. I have better luck with a $30.00 nailer then this $70.00 + gun. I'm going back to my Paslode November 25, 2014
