drills holes through cement filled masonry block?

I need to make 1 x 10" hole, and 1 x 8" hole in an exterior mason block wall. Don't want to spend $400 to rent the bits and hammer drill for this job, so would this toll do a good job to drill around the perimeter of such holes, with a 3/8" concrete bit for example?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great drill for homeowner I have drilled several 1/2 inch holes for red heads and several tapcon screws, It would not be my choice if I did it everyday. But is great for occasional jobs.
