Asked by: Anne
Hi Anne - If your current plate has 2 holes (that are 2" apart - standard), this plate will work as a replacement.

Is there supposed to be a gap between the tub wall and the new face plate?

I removed my old corroded faceplate along with the assembly attached to it (the one with the lever to close the drain, as we use a drain cover when we want to use the tub so we don't use that anyway) and there is now a huge gap between the tub wall and the new faceplate. Did I install it wrong? Am I missing a piece? The associate at the store said it should be fine to just replace the faceplate and nothing else. Please advise: I have attached pictures- the first picture is what was underneath the old one and the 2nd one though hard to see is the large gap I was talking about.
Asked by: Jenn
Jenn, Thank you for your question. The overflow cover has an orientation. As seen in the photo one side of the new cover has a cut-away. The gap (cut-away) should go toward the bottom of the tub. This allows air to enter, to displace the water flow as it goes down the drain. How far apart are the screw holes?

I am redoing my shower/ tub. I would like to change out the current tub/ shower hardware from chrome to ORB. The overfill face plate I removed was made of plastic and hade 2 holes 2" apart. The current parts are circa 1990. The shower kit was a moentrol. I would appreciate any help in finding these parts at a reasonable price. I realize going from chrome to ORB will be more costly , but i want to match the sink faucet and light in the room which is ORB.
Asked by: Jacki
Our apologies Jacki for the delay in getting back with you. We have confirmed that the screw holes are 2 in. a part. If you have any additional questions on the product please do not hesitate to call our customer support team toll-free at 877-272-7755.
