I see there's a 1 year Manufacturer's warranty against Defects in Material and Workmanship. How do I find out if my gas can is able to be repaired/replaced under the manufacturer's warranty?

Answer:
It was built broken.
A little googling will reveal some replacement nozzles. If you only use the gas can for "water", you can find one without the advanced safety features.

Answer:
I suggest you file a serious complaint with the Home Depot management. This product simply does NOT work. The more people who complain, the sooner Home Depot will stop selling this product. Saying "safety regulations require this spout design" is unacceptable. The manufacturer will design a better solution, but only if retailers like Home Depot refuse to sell this product. Good Luck!

Although the Briggs & Stratton name is on the cans, The Plastics Group actually manufacturers these cans and uses our name for branding purposes. Please try and contact The Plastics Group to resolve your parts concerns: 888-449-3326

No. I am not sure why you would want to even use parts not approved for use with gasoline. I would highly recommend buying safety cans for transporting and gasoline storage before one of these. I have switched from these cans that spill fuel all over due to poor design of the spout and I have not only kept gas off my hands, but it's better for the earth not to spill fuel all over the ground and you do not need to remove the spout to fill a safety can at the gas station as it has a fill hole with filter screen and tight spring sealed lid. I would look into the safety can option and see if that may be a better option for yourself. Lots of commercial outfits use them for a reason. Read Less

Rated 2.4 out of 5 by 200 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A Complete Waste of Money This product is designed to save you from yourself...right up until you have a temper tantrum. It is self-sealing with a spring loaded sealing mechanism. Trying to make the mechanism opened in the manner you're supposed to is extremely difficult, especially if trying to do so with small garden equipment such as leaf blowers and hedge trimmers. I broke mine out of frustration the first time I used it. Went in the trash the same day. September 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent gas can This gas can is slightly above average, for the gas cans of today. They all have to have the safety cutoff and this one is a touch easier than most. However so far it does not leak or stick open. I might recommend it based on that alone. September 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by overpriced product is way overpriced, supposingly they made it more safe for whatever reason, I can't remember anybody having trouble with a gas can, so I guess that's how they justify the high price September 7, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent item for price The spout is not very user friendly, may need to tweek the design. September 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I fell for it. Worst nozzle ever. Broke after one use. No instructions and never again. August 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OK gas can Pretty decent gas can. Would buy it again if i need to August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best 1 Gallon Gas Can I really like the way this gas gallon has filters, air vents, spout cover and gas can cover. I have used many of these with flexible gas spouts but this one has the perfect angle for my Echo Backpack Blower. I highly recommend this product. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Ughhh I truly hate the hate the way these new tanks operate! Doesn't work well pouring into a weed wacker. I end up getting gas mix all over my hands and floor. August 30, 2016
