I bought the same exact gas can today at Walmart for $10.88. Why do you charge 60% more for it than they do?

Answer:
Stores can charge anything that they think a person is willing to pay for an item. Check out the price differences between exact same items from Grainger and Zoro.

Answer:
Home Depot has never been in competition with Walmart. Volume has a lot to do with prices. Walmart probably buys 100 gas cans to every one bought by Home Depot. I personally check Walmart before HD. It's just a habit. Saved a lot of money that way.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 204 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not THAT bad I read these negative reviews and thought twice and I certainly believe a good old funnel and a plain spout would be better. This thing isn't that complicated to deserve all the negative reviews though. You push in the little safety catch and then tip it over and put the safety on the lip of your target and push the whole jug down. That opens the valve and it empties just fine. I do think I'd avoid the 5 gal version of this. Another 3 gal full of gas working the whole thing to trip the valve could be even more annoying. All that said, this isn't that bad and I'd get it again. July 22, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible design It simply did not work. It has this special, no spill feature or whatever. So it isn't a simple, put gas in, pour gas out. It wouldn't pour out. I real all directions, and I am rather handy. This item was not working properly or is just trash. I would not recommend it! September 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Gas Can i unscrew the nozzle bc the negative reviews about the nozzle are true. however, i just remove the nozzle and fill my lawnmower by the can and the gas can pours well and i usually don't spill any gas. anyway, the gas can is good as it has good capacity and the plastic is solid and seems of good quality so this gas can should last and be durable. pleased with the buy. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Gas Can after mods. Received the 2 gal gas can to be used as a two stroke fuel container for my string trimmer. First thing I did was figure out how to remove / defeat the gov't mandated fueling tubing. Removed the extra :censored: garbage that keeps you from pouring the fuel out and now I have a easy to use refueling gas can. The only other "feature" I wish it had was a vent but that is next on my list of mods to make refueling quicker. September 20, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by This is a decent gas can This is a plastic gas can. You take it to a gas station and put gas in it. Then when you need gas you can use it to pour gas into your equipment. When it is empty you can put more gas into it. It is reusable. Great idea! September 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 13082 piece of junk hate these stupid new gas cans, can't use on anything small because you have to push down for the gas, therefore gas all over, not to mention $8.00 for a replacement valve August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Confusing to use This has some kind of safety mechanism on it that makes it almost impossible to figure out and use. Ridiculous. I threw the nozzle away and use another one without the safety garbage. What is this world coming to? August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 2 gal,gas can The pour nozzel broke the first time I used it. It was a waste of money September 7, 2016
