Customer Reviews

20,000-Watt Automatic Air Cooled Standby Generator with 400 Amp/Dual 200 Amp Transfer Switch is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update, everything is OK now. Service is great from my dealer. First thing I want to say is, Don't DIY, GET A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN! I had 2 journeymen and 2 Electrician's in training, that makes four to pick up this heavy monster. The Generic is lighter and smaller size. The Generac battery is very hard to install inside the unit compared to the Briggs. After they got in out of the trailer two men stayed and the other two finished the job. It took 4.5 hours and they do this for a living. The Briggs runs smooth and very quite its putting out a very strong 20KW because we used propane, natural gas is OK, but if we have an earth quake "which we are going to have the question is when" and it breaks the natural gas lines 30 miles away or breaks it up in many places, it may take a while to get it back on so we went with the propane because of that and it develops more power for your home. We lose power about 6 times a year, but 3 times now it was off for more than a week. We also have a lot of tornadoes and high winds too and the power goes off when they hit a power station. I have a Generac for sale if that tells you anything, I know you can get a bad apple once in awhile but I didn't want another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Previous Generator Service Dealer This product is much better than Generac or previous Briggs units from my years as a service dealer. Outstanding improvements and reliability with better frame, housing, controls, and wiring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very dependable I am so happy with this model that I bought one for my lake house. My first generator was put in my house in 2005. I have had no issues and it is very comforting not to be at the mercy of your electric supplier. It is comforting knowing you have backup power. No more loses of refrigeration and suffering without heat and AC.Great generator .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No worries here ! I purchased this unit from a local distributor and paired my 20kW with the Milbank 200amp SynapSwitch-automatic transfer switch. The SnapSwitch offers true load management technology that constantly measures power & frequency allowing the switch to predict and react to changes (good stuff).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very reliable bought almost 2 years ago and has never let me down during several power outages over this time period.Came on in less then a minute to replace whole house power when needed each time from short to over 6 hours during one outage.Great product and worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Style I have installed many of these units, I'm not a fan of this new style. Cons,1- No composit base on these units. 2- Battery box requires tools to open. 3- Roof and sides too thin, not strong. 4-Gas valve is in the way of lifting point. 5- Programer, more to go wrong. 6-Ugly design. 7- Must now use an additional disconnect switch because you cant lock off the breaker on the unit. Pros, 1-More room for wiring. 2- Fuel selector switch. 3- Roof opens.
