This light worked for about 6 months. It apparently cannot take the outdoors or the heat. These are unfortunately 2 things that a grill is known for. The battery compartment is not water tight and will take on water. The batteries corrode from being close to the heat I would suspect.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by MachMan Started out great, but...
Like many folks I got tired of guessing if my steaks were done or holding a flashlight between my teeth trying to see what I was doing on my grill at night so I bought this light to solve that problem.
At first I thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread but soon my estimation of the unit went down hill. It lights the cooking area well when it works. I have this thing clamped to the wooden work area on the left hand side of my grill, the grill is always covered when not in use. After about six weeks I noticed rust beginning to appear on the tiny screws on the top of the battery holder portion of the light and shortly thereafter the light stopped working. I suspected dead batteries but when I opened the battery compartment and looked at the battery holder I could see the problem... the contacts were rusted. I cleaned them as best I could and got the light working again but only for a short period of time before the rust returned and prevented the light from operating.
It baffles me why any company would build a product obviously meant for outdoor use and not seal it in the least against moisture, not rain mind you but just moisture!!
I hope you have better luck with this product than I did.

...it's not even weather resistant. I left mine connected to my grill and after one rain, it no longer works.

Good set of lights for the grill. Was finally able to SEE how well done (or not) the steaks were. Great addition to the deck. Works flawlessly,

Rated 1 out of 5Â by LaurieinAZ Great idea but bad design
Loved the idea of this light that it would either clamp on or just attach to grill by magnets. I put the batteries in, and the light turned on fine (though it seemed dimmer than I expected). Went to put it on the side table of the grill (metal side where our side burner is), and pop! One magnet instantly fell out of the light and stuck to the grill. I tried to work with it to grill dinner that evening, but just moving the light over a few inches, made the 2nd magnet pop out. $21.99 is alot to pay for a light that breaks on day 1. Returning it!
