The Brickman cast iron smoker helps your gas grill add smoke flavor. Make sure to preheat the cast iron smoker prior to use to burn off the paint.

I love science so I used science to confirm that this unit functioned as Stated on product details and specs
So what I did was got my small portable burner and set the smoke box on the burner to simulate the exposure it would have in a gas grill and spend 1 hour observing the behavior of the smoke box so here is my testimony
This box smoked seamlessly. the smoke smoked for 30 mins No flames see Photos on the High setting of the burner
The test was done in my science outdoor lab do not try this in your home it is part greenhouse part lab part biology part general sciences If you are smoking more then an hour I recommend you buy 3 of these to circulate and refill and replace to keep the smoke going in your gas grill

Really puts out the smoke with wet chips but had to grind off a small casting flaw which kept the lid from sitting flat.

In order for this to work it must be set over the flame on the gas burner. This is a great product. I use it every time I grill. I don't soak the chips, dry makes them smoke faster.. good luck

Used twice so far. Both times with soaked hickory chips. Slow cooked a beef roast and pork ribs. Neither time did smoke flavor permeate the meat. Will probably design and build my own box eventually.

I bought this to go with my electric grill. So easy to use. Easy to clean. Soak your chips for a min of 4 hours and it will give you plenty of smoke for a few burgers or chicken. I plan on trying some ribs but I may start them in the oven first and finish by smoking them

This is the cat's meow for smoking meats on my Weber gas grill. The cast iron keeps the wood chips from heating too fast, preventing the chips from catching on fire. This was a common occurrence when using tin foil or a steel box. If you like smoke flavor on your meats, this is a must have item for your grill.

I had a wonderful experience testing this smoker box. The flavors that it added to the NY strips were incredible!
The construction is expected. Heavy, thick iron feels like a quality accessory.
Like other cast iron cookware, I seasoned the smoker box by washing, drying, coating with vegetable oil and baking at 400 degrees over tin foil (to catch the oil if it drips) for an hour then let it cool in the oven.
Before grill time, I soaked cherry wood chips in water and a little bourbon for about 45 minutes.
Grill Time! Removed one of the grates and set the box right on the flame diffuser. Then I placed the drained wood chips in the box and covered. Started the grill on med/high and let it heat until I could see some smoke and smell the aroma.
This smoker box took direct heat well and did not warp or show any troubles at all.
Steaks turned out great. Why did it take me this long to get one of these?
