Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 210 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works well with some modifications I purchased this smoker online and was able to pick it up at my local Home Depot within a reasonable amount of time. Assembly was easy. I looked at reviews and comments online and found that they were all correct. The Trailmaster leaks smoke out of every place it can. I have spent time to seal the doors and where the firebox connects to the Smoker/Grill. I have not and will not use it as a charcoal grill, this is for smoking only. I have smoked ribs, pork shoulder and beef roasts. This product works as well as any charcoal/wood grill costing much more money. I recommend this for anyone who wants a fairly large horizontal offset smoker. June 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great grill and smoker... With a few modifications this grill smokes like a champ!!!! Would recommend replacing the assembly hardware with stainless steel...No baffle coming out of the firebox, easily fixed with some metal or firebricks...Heavy duty construction and looks great in the yard..... Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Value It took a while to assemble this beast but it is an excellent entry level offset smoker. The lid and the firebox leak like a sieve but that can be remedied by some aftermarket Nomex gasket material. The part of this unit that really shines is the heavy duty grills. These are easily worth the extra $100 in cost over the competitive smokers. The front shelf is weak and lacks support when it is in place. With a few more tweeks this will be a easily controllable smoker to cook with. Is it as good as a competition offset smoker from Texas? No, of course not, but at 1/4 of the price its a respectable substitute July 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really good smoker The smoker is a lot better than my first Brinkman smoker. I had the one that the whole top lifted. It was very hard to keep temperature and I had to fuel it a lot. This smoker is so much better. I built a charcoal basket that is big enough to hold small logs. After building it my fuel consumption has gone down about 80%. Overall this a great smoker in it's class. June 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Takes practice but works great I've read some negative reviews about smokers that are short of the ultra heavy-duty, super-expensive variety. I'm sure those hold heat a little better, but this Trailmaster definitely does the trick. I've made all kinds of ribs, shoulder, leg of lamb, brisket, you name it. Everything has been stellar, but it definitely takes some practice to get the hang of keeping the heat consistent. Start with something like pork shoulder, which is really forgiving and work your way up to ribs, etc. Either way, for $300-ish, this thing is outstanding. June 11, 2013
