CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not-So-Great a replacement for a Char-Broil ignitor Ordered this product to replace the broken igniter on my Char-Broil grill. To be fair, it worked after installation but was not easy to install as a direct replacement and did not work as well. The original ignition included a 1.5v battery. All one had to do was hold the button down until the burner{s} ignited. The Brinkmann replacement igniter does not need a battery and requires repeated pushing of the igniter button until the burner{s} light. This also requires the removal of the entire original wiring because the two are not compatible. If a replacement Char-Broil igniter is not available then the Brinkmann Universal igniter will work but not as well as the original. June 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gas Grill Wiring Replacement parts restore functionality to igniter button This kit gives you all of the parts to restore the wiring for push button igniting. They suggest that you only replace the part that is worn but you can replace all of them to start fresh as if your gas grill were new again. The grill and lava rocks have to be taken off of the grill first. The package includes the igniter electrode, a white wire, side burner electrode assembly, grounding lug, hex nut, push button igniter, collector box and the screws. Step by step instructions are given for each replacement part along with pictures. The igniter is tightened to the control panel with the hex nut before attaching the black and white wires to the igniter. Before turning on the gas you can test it to see if there is a spark from the push button. If you got the kit with the side burner replacement, you will need to install the side burner electrode assembly and test it for a spark as well. You may need to test several times and make sure everything is tightened to get the spark. Once you know that you have the spark, you can connect the gas. The wires all have connectors on them making it easy to hook up. This is a very easy process to restore the wiring for your grill. May 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great spark This ignitor kit worked perfectly with my old grill. I got tired of looking for matches, so this was the right choice. It was easy to install,, Works great every time.. February 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works on Coleman propane stove The main unit (the push-button part) is an exact fit for my Coleman 2-burner propane stove (Triton series). The other parts probably wouldn't fit so easily but they weren't needed in my case. The original igniter supplied with the stove was very hard to push, and this one takes less than half the effort. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Seriously? Seriously? What am I missing here? Simple to use? Universal? I can't get it to work on a Brinkmann grill! I am really good at fixing stuff, and this escapes me. Instruction booklet is totally unintelligible. Been trying to replace an electronic ignition on my grill with this for hours! How is anyone saying "easy to install"? These instructions are way too simple. It's like they pretty much just show a picture of the parts and say "Install", lol. I also tried to find a video online and can find nothing. TOTAL WASTE OF MY DAY! March 13, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good product - not for Weber Grill I have the standard weber 3 burner grill. It has the same lighter design as the weber 2 burner grill as well. Though I am sure the brinkman is great for many grills (the spark fires correctly and resets as you would expect), don't get this to replace your weber grill Ignitor. The dimensions for the sparking unit and collection box just don't work in the weber grill. Can you make it work? Sure, eventually. But I spent over two hours constantly tweaking and adjusting it to try to get it to light reliably (90% of the time) with no luck. Finally gave up. If you have a weber grill spend the extra $10 to get a weber Ignitor and save yourself the frustration I experienced. September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Part This one surprised me. I needed a new ignitor for a Ducane Bar B Que, and for years buying parts for this great working bar-b-que has meant a drive, 75 miles away to the nearest Ducane dealer, and a three week wait, to drive back and pick-up the parts that were needed. Home Depot and Brinkman have put a stop to those drives. Home Depots inventory can cover almost any brand you may have. You only need to read the descriptions and the reviews and I have found 90 percent of the time there is a part or component in the inventory to make that older brand workable again. This ignitor works on most systems that came with an ignitor. February 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy Simple works great This was a very simple install. I removed a battery operated igniter by unscrewing the modules nut at the top of the push button. Then remove the wire going to the grill gas tube. This is very universal and I like it better as it is more durable and waterproof than the battery operated module. No more batteries and worry about keeping it dry. January 2, 2015
