Those that tune our shopping for a disabled family member all know how hard it is to find "accessibility" products that really work the way they should for us. Well, I found one that isn't marketed as an accessibility product but should be. It's a door handle that is so easy to work, all you need to do is bump, pull up, push down, pull, or turn the handle normally. The features of this door handle make it much easier for anyone with dexterity issues or chair bound to get from room to room without having to leave the doors open or ajar. This gives back some of the lost privacy and dignity that befalls whomever has difficulty with a "normal" doorknob.
Back when I was trying to understand how to plan for accessibility, I put on a pair of boxing gloves and tried to open doors, button a coat, and go about normal chores with those gloves on. That is how I think today, Could I do it with those gloves on? That must have been how someone else was thinking when they came up with this idea.
Now about the installation. It is easier to put in than most doorknobs. It has just two screws to put in that hold it together and one more in the handle to tighten up to install it in a normal 1 3/8" thick door. For thicker doors it is a quick adjustment on two more attached screws for that custom fit. This would be a great plus if you are installing a backing or kick plate under the doorknob. We all know it takes longer to put in the first knob as we are learning, but it actually took more time to take the old standard lever doorknob apart than to put the first new one in.
It feels solid when using it, comes with two latches (for 2-3/8 & 2-3/4 inch backset) and has a matching latch plate included. They also include the template and instructions for making the holes in the door if you need to do that also. My doors already had the holes so like most the only tool I needed to install it was a regular #2 Philips (cross point) screwdriver.
A good while ago I put one in to try it, It didn't take very long before I ordered more, and I am now finishing up changing every interior door handle to the same as the first. If they have an entry set, rest be assured I will be putting that in also. My hat is off to Brinks. I wish more companies thought like them.

I love the push pull feature of this lever. It has only been installed for a week, but so far works well. I found this lever at another store in my area, but it was ten dollars more.So for the value and features and price, I would highly recommend it
