Product Overview

Aerating the soil between plants and food plots in a garden in the spring is necessary for optimal growth, but hoeing larger gardens by hand can be labor intensive and time-consuming. The Brinly tow-behind Cultivator is the easiest and most efficient way to aerate the garden soil to encourage plant growth and discourage weeds from taking root. All of which can be done from the seat of a garden tractor.

  • Garden tractor attachments require a sleeve hitch for operation (not included); consult tractor dealer or manufacturer for proper sleeve hitch, additional tractor weights required for proper traction and operation; see manual for details
  • Adjustable working width from 18 in. to 40 in. to accommodate gardens of various sizes
  • (7) 1/2 in. rigid, steel shanks with depth control skids gently removes weeds and loosens soil between newly planted garden rows for optimal growth while maintaining the level of soil penetration
  • C-shape shanks work their way to the ground quicker and vibrate to more efficiently loosen the soil
  • Durable 1/4 in. angle steel frame accomodates additional weight to help break up harder soil

Answer:
Hi, using any sleeve hitch on a D Series John Deere will overheat and destroy the hydrostatic transmission. They are lawn tractors, not garden tractors... There is a difference. To use ground engaging equipment, you have to upgrade to an X Series.

Answer:
Hey Thiru.
The D130 is more of a riding lawn mower than it is a tractor. This will not fit this mower, as it would put too much strain on the mower. You can pull a small aerator or use a snow blade but a tow behind cultivator would be too much.

Answer:
Thanks for your question. You will need a sleeve hitch to attach it to your tractor. You would purchase that from your tractor manufacturer. That is what allows you to raise and lower the implement.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. As long as your tractor has a sleeve hitch it will work. You would need to check with John Deere to see if they have one available for your tractor.

Hi Joseph,
We actually no longer make a shoe for the Cultivator. I'm not sure if you are looking at an after market shoe but if you would like to email pictures of what you have or what you are looking for we would be happy to take a look and give you a definite answer. customerservice@brinly.com

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works perfect Cultivator works very well behind my lawn tractor mower for our huge garden. April 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brinly Cultivator I purchased this product with a suite (Brinly 10 inch Plow and disc harrow) to rehab an old field. The area hasn't been plowed in 12 years and is overgrown with broomsedge. After using the plow to cut the sod, I used this cultivator to continue working the soil. I worked perpendicular to the rows cut with the plow. This implement cuts in fast and does very well. It works best in soil that has already been broken a bit.... it will cut into virgin turf, but only to a depth of a few Inches. I attach a concrete block to mine to give it added weight and stability. This product is easy to hitch to my tractor and easy to use. I STRONGLY recommend checking all nuts and bolts before each use, as they will work loose with hard plowing. All in all, an excellent tool for the use. Be sure you have a sleeve hitch and a garden tractor rated to use ground engaging attachments. October 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Purchase I have made in a while The cultivator was extremely easy to put together.I am a 53 year old woman and I had it hooked up and in garden in less than 45 Minutes. And what's even better it worked great in my garden. I will never have to beg another person to come and plow my garden. THATS A HUNDRED DOLLARS I CAN KEEP IN MY BACK POCKET! June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great cultivator I purchased this item to till up about 1/4 acre of land to plant alfalfa. Our soil is a bit on the sandy side. It worked great to till about 5 inches deep with only a couple of passes. Definitely worth the money. September 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this product preformed better than expected The cultivator hooked up very easily and pulled nicely behind my UTV. I added some weight on the tines (some old car calipers). Dug in the ground nicely had a half acres plowed very quick. cheaper than buying a tractor....very pleased April 17, 2014
