Can this be attached to any make of lawn tractor?

This is much cheaper than the one made by the maker of our tractor :-)
Asked by: WashingtonNewbie
It attaches with a simple pin. If your tractor has a bracket and hole at the rear it should work. If not I would think you could buy something. But most tractors have a hitch.

I'm going to try this again, do you need weight on this to work? I thought it was just supposed to lightly scrape the surface of the lawn

Asked by: YoMomma
It works better with weight. I use concrete blocks.

Price was reasonable but was charged an assembly of $20.00 price did not show charge as other lawn equipment did. Product was not assembled correctly had to spend approx. one hour reassembling some of the parts after looking online for the manual, several blots were also loose. I would recommend verifying the assemble completed properly before leaving store. The adjustment lever was on backwards and mounting bolts to hitch were loose.

I bought this after the hurricane to tow around on my lawn tractor, rake up debris, leaves, and small branches. I used it on the lowest height setting, and it was perfect. Home Depot assembled for me free of charge. You can't ask more than a great product, and excellent store service.

It seems to be built very well and should last many years. The hardware is clearly labeled for each step which is very helpful. As other people have noted, please do not forget to do the adjustment step! Be careful as well as some steps tell you to leave hardware lose to support later adjustment. It is clearly stated so just take your time and read the instructions. it took me about an hour with adjustment since I did it twice. I pull this with a JD LA130 to help breathe some life back into my lawn. Two cinder blocks on the top are more than sufficient. I would recommend it product to anyone.

All of the nuts and bolts came on a shrink wrapped cardboard. Each piece was labeled as to where and when to use it. Once assembled, I used a small cinder block to help prevent bouncing around over the uneven ruts in my lawn. I knew I needed to dethatch, but did not expect the 10 huge barrels of hay that were produced! I should have mowed first, then dethatched, then mow again, then rake. Instead of dethatch, rake, mow, rake, mow, rake! Next year I will be in the market for a lawn sweeper. I would stick with the same brand because of my experience with their easy to follow directions.

The last dethatcher in stock at my local store was already assembled, so I didn't have to put it together, so I cannot comment on that process, however, I was very pleased with my first use. I placed 2 cinder blocks on top, strapped them down and away I went and gathered up a lot of thatching.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thatcher worked well after hard winter on turf Thatcher worked as desired and very happy with purchase. Did good job after a bad winter season for our location. Took multiple passes given how bad lawn was but did good job. only negative as a cumbersome but not too difficult assy process.
