There is no existing hitch for that, but I would think you could drill a hole for a place to hitch a sweeper to the back of this dethatcher and pull them in tandem.

Not this model, but there is another one that is desinged to be attached to a particular lawn sweeper. I have a Brinly lawn sweeper and investigated the one that attaches, but I have hills and gullys that my sweeper has a tough time in so I went with the stand alone thatcher.

Thank you for your Answers. By the time my questions was approved I had The dethatcher hooked up. between my Mower and the Lawn Sweeper. I drilled a hole in the back center of the tine plate to accommodate the Sweeper. It all worked pretty good.

They came separated in the box. Very easy to assemble. I was able to simply place the tine on to the unit, when upside down, hand tightened. I then completed assembly on top side, as it does require the re-loosening of some bolts on the bottom, prior to coming back and re-tightening with a ratchet wrench. All in all, took about 35 min to assemble. Rather straight forward.

It attaches with a simple pin. If your tractor has a bracket and hole at the rear it should work. If not I would think you could buy something. But most tractors have a hitch.

Probably to the average home owner tractors out there. Once you get into the zero turn models, it's not guaranteed because the hitch heights vary so greatly on them that a higher hitch point might make it's angle so steep that it won't touch the ground. I had this problem with a Gravely.

As long as the lawn tractor has a hitch where you can attach a hitch pin, it will work. This unit adjusts for various heights of hitches on tractors to keep the unit level. This allows all of the tines to make contact with the ground.

As long as you have an area (hole) in the back of your tractor to hook up the dethatcher with the pin and cotter pin, you should be all set. This is a great tool and name brand means nothing for this type of tool, in my opinion.

It can be attached to a wide variety of tractors. During the assembly there is a set up step so be sure you do not tighten all the nuts on the hitch until you complete this step near the end. The cardboard box that it is packed in worked well to set up the height.

As long as the lawn tractor in question can accept an attachment that uses a hitch pin and clevis, it will work. This applies to almost every make and model and is the reason why we make all of our dethatchers with this kind of set up.

I use two cinder blocks on mine (strapped down) and it works great. You do have to pay close attention to the instructions as there is an adjustment that is necessary during initial set-up to have it scrape at the right level. It's different for each mower it's used with because the hitch heights vary between mowers.

Yes i would definitely put some weight on it. I didn't try it without it, but i like how it operates with weight on it. Probably held it from bouncing better. I used three of the medium size stacker stones, the ones that are kind of pie shaped and used for making small rock walls or steps or whatever. Rubber bungee cord to hold them down.

You can put some cinder blocks if you want, I wouldn't put more then two or it depends how big they are but two would do it for me. I have some sloping on my lot and two blocks would be enough for my lawn tractor. I have seen it done both ways with or without. Happy dethatching.

Answer:
This unit can do dethaching, and scarifying of the lawn, weights can also be used if you need the unit to hold steady and the tines to be closer to the ground. Weight are sometimes used on these unit if you have a bumpy yard the extra weight will help to hold the unit steady.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly surprised I was very skeptical about a cheap ($79) piece of equipment but I read other comments. It works extremely well. It pulled a ton of loose dead grass out of my yard. Had to use my bagger to get it all up. As an added benefit, I'm battling an invasion of Bermuda grass; It pulled the heck out of those long shoots, allowing me to keep mowing it over to thin it out. It doesn't require any weight to be added, works just fine. I wouldn't recommend if you have and enjoy Bermuda grass. August 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Quality Issues Bought this along with the Brinley-Hardy aerator. Dethatcher was missing the lever to raise and lower the unit as well as the plate that it locks into place. Extra trip to Home Depot where they opened another one and just gave me the pieces. HD was great, better than waiting for the parts in the mail. Wheels seem a little light duty, will update review after overseeding next weekend. August 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brinley tow behind dethatcher Unbelievable dethatching. Always rented a power dethatcher, left the lawn looking terrible, especially on high spots. Never expected for $80 I would get something that works so well. Did a great job with no additional weight added. About an hour to assemble and adjust and attach to my craftsman R1000 30 inch riding mower. Outstanding construction and at such a price! Would never hesitate to buy a Brinley USA made product again! Definitely recommended. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great I bought this to distribute horse manure over my pasture. I'm pulling it with a riding mower. Just want to say it does a great job. July 5, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pain to assemble I don't know what people are talking about when they say this is easy to assemble. It took me almost two hours because I couldn't figure out the pictures in the book. They also did not include all of the parts and I had to call the company to ship me the missing parts. They did FedEx the parts but it took two days. That was a hassle because it sat around half assembled in the garage until all of the parts came. I thought the parts were labled well but the directions were confusing. I'm not a novice, I just think you have to think like an engineer to assemble this thing. Haven't used it yet but it looks sturdy. April 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for the yard Looking forward to a great yard, and I will owe part to my new dethatcher June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product for the price This dethatcher worked well although a little difficult to adjust weight wise to get the pressure I wanted. Once it was adjusted it worked well and brought up the old dead grass and leaves that was keeping some spots in my yard from growing good. Overall a good purchase that will hopefully keep my yard healthier. June 3, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works as designed Assemblied fairly easily. Just pay attention to which side of the main unit the tow arms attach to. This unit will dig up sod that is not rooted well. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Overall I was happy with the results. I reseeded the areas that got torn up and now have much better turf in those spots. June 7, 2016
