Bought for the price and because it was convenient at the time. Easy to put together. Wished it would hold more weight. I maxed it at the 110 lbs and had to wait for a good rain for it to penetrate good, which it did. Having said that I noticed after first use the end panels bending out which caused tine bearings to start to separate, and I had made sure everything was tight before I used it. I fabricate, repair, and build things for a living so I know all was assembled properly. I added 1 L bracket to each end, (see pic) which upon second use held everything in place nice and tight, no separation of tine bearings. The brackets mounted in the holes that I used for the strap to hold blocks the first time. The brackets I mounted as it worked out, had another hole that actually made it easier to hook straps. So with a little re-engineering, it worked fine.

Well, I got to use this once last year and then halfway through aerating today, the thing fell apart. The bar with the spikes came off so,, went to store and got some more 5/8th inch keys for the end of the rod and was able to get it back together again minus one spike. But, after one trip around the yard, it came apart again. To the dump this will go!

very light weight, blocks added for weight did not stay put even with tie downs. I would not recommend this item even for a small garden patch.

Easy to assemble, strong construction and with the right weight, aerator reaches perfect depth.
Only issue, doesn't go backwards too well.
Also make sure yard is free of debris like bark because you will need to take it off spikes

OK. Excited. Assembly went well. Seems like strong steel and construction. Fairly easy assembly. Nice sharp spikes. Bolted to my mower and off I go with a 100lb weight (close to max). Looking good. Get to an elevation in the lawn and the side members that hold the weight off the spikes bends to 45 degrees. The G-clip at the end of the rod that holds the spikes on falls off and it is gone. Game over...
Now. I take unit apart. Painstakenly bolt in angle brackets to these uprights, reapply the G-clips and I'm back in business. An obvious flaw that could be fixed with a simple change. Warranty probably no good now. Happy with product overall after changes.

This product is very poorly build, the sides that hold the blades is extremely thin which causes them to bend as soon as you place any weight on the aerator and make a turn. I would not recommend this product. Perhaps spending a bit more of money might make it worth it.

My husband wanted this inexspensive aerator for our yard. We had one before(we bought from lowes) it was great. Lasted us about 3 yrs.. Well worth the money but this one has been a pain. It's easy to put together IF we had all the parts for it. In all the box was missing 3 pieces and no instructions. Just looked that up online but it's been 4 days now since we bought it and we have to go back to the hardware store to see what we can find to substitute for the missing pieces. It's an 80 mile round trip for us to return it or we would.
