How often do you have to change the filters?

How often do you need to change the Redi twist filter USF-201 and Redi Twist filter USF-205 . It says 1 year filter life, Does that mean all three need to be changed yearly? Thank You

Hello @ashune566. Those two filters should be changed every six months, or as needed. The RO membrane should be changed once a year. Hi, the waste ratio should be printed on the box. I do believe it is also based on the particulates in you water and should vary. Our R.O. is filtering well water and the waste was high until we put a pre-filter before the system. Does this help?

Followed the instruction to drain water, instructions not very precise. Tried different things, including leaving the water on for a many days - which results in water just draining away. Instruction says 'Leave the auxiliary closed', however nowhere in the instruction/product documents does it say what they mean by 'auxiliary'. Disappointed with Brita, should have read the reviews before i bought. June 18, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's proving to be a very Excellent product A lot of people here are complaining about gushing water and it doesn't work and do you people know why it's not working? It's because you did NOT install the RESTRICTOR in the line from the tap. Try reading the instructions and it will tell you that if the RESTRICTOR is NOT INSTALLED then the unit will NOT WORK PROPERLY. Also, when it comes to leaks, the 1/4 inch tubing or any tubing for that matter MUST BE CUT STRAIGHT USING A SPECIAL TUBING CUTTER THAT IS MADE TO CUT TUBING PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. You people are not cutting the tubing perfectly straight and that's why you are experiencing leaks. My unit runs great with no leaks and I'm very happy with it. February 22, 2016

Crawl out from under your sink, and drive and fast and far awy from this product as possible I have owned this product for a little over a year and had no issue with this product until I tried to replace the Redi-Twist filters. OMG. The filer replacement box says it takes "5 minutes to replace". What they do not tell you is that it is actually a 28 hours process to pressurize and purge this system, requiring you to leave the water running for a 24 hour period - Oh, and if you are to keep up on the filter replacement schedule this has to be repeated every six months. .To remove the filters, a process that is described in the manual as a simple twist and release, I had to pull so hard I nearly dislodged and shattered the entire filter system. Then there are the replacement instructions: To replace these Redi-Twist filters the filter box says one thing, the manual says another, and the support person who answered the phone provided a third thing. The videos on-line make no mention of the how to replace filters on an existing system, but only how to install, sanitize, pressurize and purge the system on a new system, which is eve a longer process. It is true that the company who manufactures, and sells the product is only licensing the Brita name, so Brita has no quality control over the product. I could find no indication on the packaging that would have led me to believe I was not buying a Brita Product. The only response I got from Brita was to call the other company. Buyer beware! Ours has been in for six month so we are doing the first round of filter changes with no complaints. Sounds like most people haven't had a good experience. I for one had no issues. This was my second time doing an RO system. I do have pretty good plumbing skills though. My last system was a much more expensive system with much more expensive filters and this works just as well. The filters are easier to change and much better pricing. As for the water, it tastes great which says a lot as we have very hard tap water. My 2 cent's worth since I never do these, but I felt it should be said. November 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaply built. Faucet broke after three days I bought it for the name. Brita. Should have been a no brainer. I'm a contractor and the installation went fine. Until I tried using the faucet. The valve handle jams, the spout wiggles like it's going to fall off and now with only three days use, the flimsy toggle wings that are supposed to lock the spout to the countertop broke apart and fell into the cabinet leaving the spout flopping loose and unusable. Wow. I haven't seen this level of junk in years. Oh, and they aren't kidding in the instructions about the water flow being less than your sink faucet. If you're thirsty, you had better be patient. Very low flow rate. And forget about trying to fill water bottles to take to work or work out. The tiny storage tank empties after a quart. January 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay with Watts Premium Just installed it and turned on the water. Guess what, the RO membrane cartridge leaks at the housing connection. Took it out and tried 3 more times, still leaks, gotta take it back. The faucet is very flimsy. Value? The Watts Premium is $30 less at Costco and we have had, 3 total, for 16 years with no problems. Brita should get out of this line, January 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Bad ...........But Not Great Have had this unit for a few months now and at first it worked very well. Install was pretty easy despite having it in my basement with a line running to the kitchen sink upstairs. Water pressure was OK and about par with other RO systems I have had. Then the issue started! The water won't go into the holding tank! I have checked the tank pressure which is 7 psi, I checked the home water pressure which is fine but there is very little water entering the holding tank. I cannot even fill up a water bottle! Forget about support as Brita does not make this product, it is a license deal with another company. They should take the Brita name off as it is going to damage their company image and reputation. I have NO idea who to talk to about my issue. The manual does not list any contact, which is a big red flag. Until support issues are resolved I would not recommend this product. January 26, 2016
