Answer:
Hello @ashune566. Those two filters should be changed every six months, or as needed. The RO membrane should be changed once a year. If you have any other questions, feel free to give us a call Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST at 866-709-7086. Thanks! - Meghan, BRITA, manufactured under license by Protect Plus

A LOT! The amount of wasted water is absurd. For each few drops of purified water, it wastes a whole stream of fully open water faucet.
This wastes so much water to make me uncomfortable, I can't believe this is legal, I want to return it and get my money back for both the filter and the plumber's work.

Answer:
Hi, the waste ratio should be printed on the box. I do believe it is also based on the particulates in you water and should vary. Our R.O. is filtering well water and the waste was high until we put a pre-filter before the system. Does this help?

Hi Nick, thanks for your question. I don't recommend using the Redi-Twist RO for an inst-hot due to the flow rate. However, there is a new Brita 3-Stage microbiological filter coming online at The Home Depot's website in the next couple of weeks. Here is a link: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Brita-Redi-Twist-Purifier-3-Stage-Drinking-Water-Filtration-System-WFUSS-334/204644564. Right now it shows up as Read More

The flow rate would work much better. Hope that helps! Thanks! - Meghan, Brita Water Filtration, manufactured under license by Protect Plus Read Less

Rated 1.8 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wastes too much water and makes a watery mess by the auxiliar faucet's air hole DON'T BUY THIS! This filter wastes an absurd amount of water. For each few drops of purified water, it wastes a full stream. I can't believe this is legal. For each few glasses of water, the filter has to be on refilling its tank for like an hour, wasting water. It makes me really uncomfortable. During the filtering process, it makes a noise of air and water and drips water through the air hole from the shaft of the filtered water faucet. For the sake of giving an impartial review: The filtered water it produces has great quality. August 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy and faulty We had a plumber over to install it. While he was doing something else in our home it began leaking water. flooded under our sink. It had a faulty part. He fixed that, leaving us with the terrible noise. Terrible. August 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst system! The instructions says that it will take 60 minutes to set up, I agree, but it wastes too much water. I had a specialist come see if we did something wrong, and he did not understand why the unit was discarding so much water. Britta needs to fix the problem with this product. July 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by this item is sucks Don't buy this , I was regret to install this in my kitchen. You never know when it comes to leak around faucet. We tried several times to repair it and change the parts, but the issues never solved. I suggest the Brita need check their quality of the product line. July 7, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is junk Don't buy this. It is junk. Just as many others have said the facet leaks like crazy. There is not fixing it. I went back to home depot to get another one and all of the boxes have been returned. It is obvious they had the same problem. Rite out of the box it leaks. July 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad product, bad instructions, does not work Unit does not filter water, just drains all of it out. Hired a plumber to install the unit. Followed the instruction to drain water, instructions not very precise. Tried different things, including leaving the water on for a many days - which results in water just draining away. Instruction says 'Leave the auxiliary closed', however nowhere in the instruction/product documents does it say what they mean by 'auxiliary'. Disappointed with Brita, should have read the reviews before i bought. June 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not recommended I Just bought it and installed system in my office (I'm a licensed contractor) and it just leaks from spout non stop. Junk! June 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's proving to be a very Excellent product A lot of people here are complaining about gushing water and it doesn't work and do you people know why it's not working? It's because you did NOT install the RESTRICTOR in the line from the tap. Try reading the instructions and it will tell you that if the RESTRICTOR is NOT INSTALLED then the unit will NOT WORK PROPERLY. Also, when it comes to leaks, the 1/4 inch tubing or any tubing for that matter MUST BE CUT STRAIGHT USING A SPECIAL TUBING CUTTER THAT IS MADE TO CUT TUBING PERFECTLY STRAIGHT. You people are not cutting the tubing perfectly straight and that's why you are experiencing leaks. My unit runs great with no leaks and I'm very happy with it. February 22, 2016
