Answer:
No! Installation of this infrared heater over a tub or shower is not safe. Some exhaust fans can be installed over a tub or shower if connected to a GFI, Ground Fault Interrupter Circuit. A heater/ fan combo unit with which the outflow of warm air can be directed toward the tub/shower would be the best solution for heating that area of the bathroom.

Answer:
This unit is just a bulb heater. There is no blower in the model 161. If you want a single bulb heater with an exhaust fan, purchase the Broan model 162.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ceiling heat lamp Replaced ceiling fan & fit in location well. Just what we wanted. November 4, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Why not in Stores Had to order online. Not available in store... Hard to believe in an area that it snows. Product itself is great!!! Just not available to buy in Home Depot... September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what was needed! Doing a major bathroom remodel, down to the studs, I was determined to add a heat source for chilly mornings. I had opportunity to use the same heat lamp while on a trip and figured it would fill my needs. I have not needed it since installation, central Florida in July, but am sure this winter there will be mornings I will make use of it. August 21, 2013
