Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great unit for the price It was relatively easy to install. The wireing diagram could be improved but I got through ok and I'm not an electrician. I replaced one that was similar. This is quieter August 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It quit working! I set this fixture up to run one light and the fan on a timed switch and the second light on another switch. After one week of use, the lights stopped lighting. Doing some debugging I find that the current to the lights is too low and will not light the 2- 250 watt bulbs. Fan works on one switch and somehow the low current is also trying to run the fan. The wiring diagram is a mess, but I figured it out and wired it properly. I am still trying to figure out how to salvage the fixture. It would be great if an engineer from Broan would address this issue and those that others have had with this product July 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Poor Wiring and Eventual Problems The wiring diagram is horrible to say the least. After a bit of studying, I figured out how it was supposed to work and hooked it up. It worked for about 1 week when suddenly both lights quit working but the fan still worked. The switches for the heat lamp and the light were providing power, and instead it was in the fixture itself. In all total, it had about 3 hours of total "run time", and that being the light, not the heat lamp or the blower. Furthermore, the pigtails within the electrical box are far too short for any sort of installation ease, with one being entirely too short altogether. I am still working on figuring out what is wrong with this fixture, and when I saw this, I decided to comment. June 18, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This product worked fine but now the lights have quit working. I have the same problem as Allen and wi4x4man. This product was wired correctly, took the electrian some time to figure it out. Could definitely use some longer wires. I have only used this unit for a couple of hours and now the lights do not work. The fan works but nothing else. I am troubleshooting it right now. I went to the Broan website to see if there were any troubleshooting pages. November 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wish is had more heat Purchased this to replace the Broan unit which had the blower heat, that unit stopped working within a year. This unit with the heat bulb isn't as warm. I like the heat blowing on me when I stepped out of the shower, this unit isn't nearly as warm September 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Combo Fan & Heater Replaces Space Heater & Exhaust Fan The average rating on "ease of installation" does indicate any fault of the 164. Although the installation steps are simply stated, significant effort is necessary to complete ..The heat lamps are controlled by a timer switch without an "always on" position as a safety precaution. So far the unit performs well, as it has only been in use for a few weeks. I would prefer a schematic type diagram for wiring instructions.Ooverall I am pleased with the Broan 164 . November 21, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by wiring diagrams are VERY POOR You need to provide a schematic diagram for wiring. The dumbed down illustrations that are provided are substandard. If you just told us what color wire went which which function, that would be enough. But instead you list the wire color with a black/white coversion chart - but no funtion information with it. I little bit more information please. December 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A excellant product My objective was to be able to heat the Bathroom without heating the whole house ar waiting for the Furnace to heat the house. After researching both Broan and other makes I selected the Broan 164. It gets the job done and helps to hold down the utilities expenses. I highly recommend the Broan 164 March 3, 2013
