Are the lights in the front or the rear of the hood?

my question in on the light. Can extra bulbs be ordered? Also, do lights shine down on the stove sufficiently?

Asked by: rt150
Not sure about ordering extra lights, but they do give off a good amount of light for the stove.

How high above range should hood be?

I have looked in manuel and i cant figure it out
Asked by: Norma
In the instructions it says it depends on the height of your ceiling (8 or 9 feet) but it recommends 26 - 30 inches above the cooking surface. Ultimately it depends on your preference and the height of your primary cook.

Thank you for your interest in our Chimney-styled range hood. The flue on this model will fit ceiling 8'-9' tall. The extension flue will accommodate a 10' high ceiling for a ducted option. The model number for that extension flue (for this specific model) is RFX5204. It's offered on Thanks, again.

Elite RM52000 30 in. Convertible Range Hood in Stainless Steel is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Grossly overpriced for what you get The chimney is flimsy, not well made at all. The fan is so horribly loud that you cannot hear someone in the kitchen. Each of settings sound exactly the same! The performance of the fan does not redeem itself either -- it's unimpressive. My Viking hood was far superior in performance. The light has only 1 setting which is disappointing considering how much this hood cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broan elite range hood My husband finished the remodeling of the whole kitchen and I then wanted to change a feature in the kitchen, the ventilation. I purchased this hood after lots of reading and learning about CFM and what was needed for the size of my kitchen. I wanted to go with a company who specialized in hoods so it would be a better built product. My learning about Broan was that the company had a good reputation and a well built product. My husband wanted me to get a monster size one and I wanted my hood to blend with my kitchen I have a pot filler on the wall over my stove along with a Kraus stainless apron sink and Kraus faucet which are out of this world. The Range hood added to the fine elements. The hood has performed very well, looks great and was a easy install for my husband. The hard part was he had to put in the venting system through the ceiling out the roof :) he is very handy. I didn't find better pricing for the hood anywhere and believe me I searched. It came in a few days and they sent tracking numbers and alerts as to where it was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice looking and functional We replaced our stove and placed a backsplash. I hired someone to install the duct work and the range hood. The contractor said the hood was easy to install. I find it sucks the steam and odor very well while cooking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A bit pricey for the end result. The hood looks nice after installed and all the fingerprints wiped away. The decorative flue did not install easy because the framework of the hood itself was misalligned....very frustrating and caused scratches on the flue surface that are not removable. All fingerprints must be wiped with special stainless steel cleaner otherwise it looks aweful. The fan and lights work very well but thought the switches would have been a bit more user friendly. Otherwise nice product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks good but…. My remodeling business specializes in kitchens. So we frequently install all types and qualities of range hoods. I rarely take time to write reviews, but I wasted so much time installing this hood for my customer, I figured why not invest some more time warning the next guy. 1. The instructions were full of all the usual warnings but very much lacking in useful advice to explain the intended methods of installation. 2. The design of the telescopic chimney was okay but something went wrong. It appears that the inner section should be just a little smaller than the outer section it slides inside of. This one was much smaller which caused gaps. It also appears that the inner section can only be held in place, within the outer section if the return legs on the back are trapped inside the return leg of the outer section. On this unit, there was a 3/8” difference so the two sections did not stay in alignment. I added blocks to the inner section to keep them in alignment. 3. The mounting bracket for the top of the chimney is flimsy and not at all forgiving of the inevitable imperfections of any drywall wall/ceiling corner. It includes a very poor description of how to assemble the 3-piece bracket and gives no dimension. Why? 4. Blocking requirements are not explained well in the information available on the website. Even if we had had the hood and instructions before drywall went in, understanding the blocking requirements would have been problematic. 5. Blocking should be called out for the lower set of holes as the position is fixed and thereby not suited to accommodate actual stud locations. 6. The attachment holes that do the bulk of the work are stamped (countersunk) to accept flat head screws but the instructions call out the provided pan head screws. Seems to me the best design would be flat holes and truss head screws so the final position and level can be tweaked before the protruding sheet metal holes bite into the wallboard. 7. And, as with EVERY manufacturer, the duct connection is ridiculous. How do you “Tape” metal duct to a hub that’s 5/8” long? Do these people EVER actually install anything? Put a shoulder and a tape hub on it so an installer can actually do as you ask. 8. The switches are crude and the switch plate slides every time you try to change speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Range Hood! This is an awesome range hood. It looks great, and is very quiet. Haven't really cooked with it yet so can't speak for how well the fan works but I have to imagine it works well enough and looks even better. It is a bit tricky to install so make sure you take your time, plan ahead and do some prep work in advance. The instructions are not the best but you'll be able to figure them out. One thing to know before you start is that it says you should install a wood panel behind the drywall to allow you to screw directly into it. I didn't know about this beforehand and had already put in a tile backsplash and install the range hood on top of the tile with high quailty anchors. It worked out fine but would've liked to know that first. You also need to install on the ceiling or wall for the top of the flue to screw into to hold it up. Make sure you take your time in measuring and centering where the hood should go before drilling holes. All in all, it takes some time and thought to install but it looks really good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product has great features, and looks great too We selected this fan to remove cooking odors before they spread throughout the house. I'd had enough of under performing fans that did nothing but make noise. This unit works very well. The design and appearance were also important in our choice. The highest setting can be noisy, but doesn't have to be on very long, as the fan works very well.
