Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Paeon69 Nice features but not a beginner assembly
This is a well made product; packaged well and with all the fancy parts protected. I would have given this product 5 stars but the instructions are poor. After years of putting together products from many different companies I expected more from Broil Mate. The instructions provided cover 2 models but they don't differentiate them. The assembly instructions are for the rotisserie model. You end up looking for screws that aren't for your model. Once I caught on things went better. If you are not the handy type pay for the assembly.

Bought the natural gas version and was able to plug it in to my home's gas line and use it that day, which was great! Unfortunately, there were some dents in some of the parts. The left door was in-operable and the interior shelf was missing. The manufacturer was a little difficult to connect to, but when I did reach them they agreed to ship out replacement parts immediately without hassle. Being this is my first gas grill I need to get used to maintaining the correct temp, but has been grilling well so far.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scott great purchase!
The grill was a great deal especially for a "natural gas grill!" They were generally much more expensive but this grill looks and works great (and I am very picky!!)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Retired Good, but thin metal parts only last 2 years.
Grill arrived assembled and looks very well put together. Followed all instructions and heated grill up with all 4 burners going to get rid of any factory smell. Have been using grill regularly every three or four days. Heats up and gets very hot, rotissere works very well and is welcome addition. Grill is covered always and kept outside. After 2 years did a thorough cleaning and discovered that 3 of 4 burners were rusted, and the gas carryover had also rusted. Only lasted 2 years. Called Onward in Canada and luckily these were covered for 5 years, so they sent me new one in 2 weeks. Recently discovered that the four metal grates are on last legs, rusting away. These only covered 2 years, so after market grates are easily found. Advice if you buy this, keep it inside, roll it outside and do your cooking, let it cool off then keep it inside. Probably last a long time.

When assembling this, we found the pictures only instructions a little vague and hard to understand. Some of the instructions should specify which model they are referring to.The sides of the base were labelled incorrectly as well.
We feel some wording in the instructions would have been very useful.
We have yet to try it because the gas hose connection is different than our old gas model .
Other than that, we really like the look and construction of the parts.

Looks great but cooks not so good. This bbq heats up great but has hot spots in the cooking surface. Flares up a lot and the grease doesnt drain to the grease pan causing pooling underneath the burners. The side burner works well heating up quickly and effectively. I generally burn out a bbq in 6 to 7 years but i can tell this one wont last more than 5. I wouldnt buy another Broil Mate. Contruction is okay but not exceptional. I will buy a Weber next time.

Purchased this unit because of the the Brand name. The manufacturer put the wrong base in the box. This wasn't discovered until it was all assembled and the doors had to be put on. After 3 attempts to contact the manufacturer with questions ,they failed to respond. I modified the base myself. I have yet to BBQ on this grill. It seams very slow to heat up. Not sure how this will perform on a window day or in the winter. Wouldn't recommend this grill

Because we liked the look of this broil mate in the add, it's price at the time of $449 and the fact that Home Depot would do all the assemby we decided to go with all those first impressions.
That was a good choice. After talking on phone to a great sales lady in the Edmonton Strathcona store the deal was cinched. This was back in March this year and we're completely satisfied. Looks good and cooks great and heats good. Even though some of our weather has been cool and windy I got out my old aluminum 14 cup coffee percolator and brewed a fresh pot on the side burner. In about 15 minutes till a faint flicker of steam arose at which time the pork chops hit the grill. Fabulous.
One glitch was that the initial hookup required a 3" piece of black iron pipe to convert to the new coupling. I called a plumber from the yellow pages advertising fast moderately priced work. For $219 he used two pipe wrenches to install a four dollar item. Yikes.
