I have a herniated disk in my lower back. Twisting to clean myself could leave me crippled. Anyone who has a back problems will find this item useful. I have had this bidet for over 18 months. It does an excellent job cleaning and drying. I have had no problems mechanically
I found the seat easy to install to the toilet. Everything you need to hook to the current plumbing is in the kit. No need to cut anything. The electrical was more of a problem. For safety reasons you rarely find electrical plugs close to a toilet. The bidet's plug cord is not particularly long. I wanted the electrical supply to come from the GF plug which my wife uses for her hair dryer. That would have meant using an exposed extension cord to reach the plug.
My solution was to install a new GF plug under the sink cabinet. Then, cut a hole in the cabinet to connect the Bidet plug to an extention cord under the cabinet, and plug into the GF wall plug. However, please beware, this is not a job for the inexperienced. Before you buy this item, think about where you will be able to plug it in. - <><

The Brondell Swash-1000 is a pretty good bidet seat, but I've used others like Toto and the like. The price differences between Swash 800 and 1000 is very high and the stream of water from a Toto is much smoother.
That being said, I still LOVE my new Swash 1000. It's great quality, just less so on the value.
Three annoyances, though.
1. Sometimes I must press the button to "go" more than once for it to actually go.
2. The water tube supplied is angled in such a way that it ALWAYS sticks out in an unsightly manner.
3. The power cord is on the right side when facing the seat. I'd have preferred it was in the middle and could go either direction.

This very life changing cleaning system has saved my son who is challenged and obese embarrassment. It is unimaginable to see the difference this has made in his life. It took just a few minutes to hook up and everything about this cleaner is amazing. You will never know what you are missing in life until you put Brondell Swash 1000 in your life. Thank you, thank you, thank you

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FamilyCareGiver Well Worth It.
I've purchased two these. One for my mother and one for my sister. Both have mobility and dexterity issues. The Swash 1000 particularly is good at keeping the privates clean without assistance. A big plus for the user as well as the aides. It is far better if the user operates the seat but someone else can operate the buttons on the remote without having to be in visual contact (privacy issue) if necessary. Cleans fore and aft.
It takes a bit to get used to so be patient. The heating and pressure levels need to be experimented with for optimal use. The dryer will seem cold at the beginning because of the wetness but can feel too warm when mostly dry. Best to either adjust it from hot to warm as it is used or not to have it on hot at all.

I had to return this seat because it was just too small a hole in the seat. The seat hardware at end of seat takes up too much space. I returned this and bought an elliptical shaped toilet and elliptical bidet and it worked great
