Customer Questions & Answers

Is the remote lighted? How long is the cord? Which side does the cord come out of? Are there advantages to elongated?

Asked by: Linny
The remote is not lighted. The cord is 42 inches long as stretched out. It is on the right side as one looks at the toilet. It requires as single circuit GFI plug rated at 15 amps. If you don't have one of these already it is best to have it installed by someone who is professional or experienced. Elongate and round are about the shape of the toilet. There is more info on the Swash website including a list of tested toilets.

Does this fit on one piece toilets?

How much clearance do you need behind for it to fit without hitting the back of the tank. I read a review on here of someone saying they have a 2 piece toilet and it is close so they Didn't know if it fit on a one piece toilet.
Asked by: Niko
You need at least 1.5 inches from the center of the bolt holes (the bolts that hold your existing seat on the toilet) to the toilet tank. 2+ inches would be best.

does this product ever go on sale?

Asked by: mercedes190
I received and email ad on 8/2 that said it was on sale at Home Depot. Still not cheap. However, I found it helps with a herniated disk I have in my back. No more needing twist to clean self.

Customer Reviews

Swash 1000 Electric Bidet Seat for Round Toilet in White is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not the best The Brondell Swash-1000 is a pretty good bidet seat, but I've used others like Toto and the like. The price differences between Swash 800 and 1000 is very high and the stream of water from a Toto is much smoother. That being said, I still LOVE my new Swash 1000. It's great quality, just less so on the value. Three annoyances, though. 1. Sometimes I must press the button to "go" more than once for it to actually go. 2. The water tube supplied is angled in such a way that it ALWAYS sticks out in an unsightly manner. 3. The power cord is on the right side when facing the seat. I'd have preferred it was in the middle and could go either direction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't live without it! When we remodeled our bathroom, my husband (along with our contractor) suggested we purchase the Brondell Swash 1000 Bidet Seat. I told him he was crazy and he could put it in his bathroom--not mine! But I have been won over quickly and completely. The clean feeling and comfort that you receive from this appliance is fabulous. I am not elderly, but I would recommend this to anyone, especially those that have mobility and toiletry issues. All of the features work very well. Because it is more visible than a regular toilet seat, it does take away from my perfectly, picked-out-to-match toilet, but the experience is well-worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST IN EVERY HOUSE! We simply can not believe we spent so many years without this bidet. It's perfect in every points and seat is even more comfortable than before. Our family and friends were reticent in trying it...but now they are all jealous and want one too! LOL Also, I have major disabilities with both my arms, and, you might not believe me, this bidet just changed my life for the better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth It. I've purchased two these. One for my mother and one for my sister. Both have mobility and dexterity issues. The Swash 1000 particularly is good at keeping the privates clean without assistance. A big plus for the user as well as the aides. It is far better if the user operates the seat but someone else can operate the buttons on the remote without having to be in visual contact (privacy issue) if necessary. Cleans fore and aft. It takes a bit to get used to so be patient. The heating and pressure levels need to be experimented with for optimal use. The dryer will seem cold at the beginning because of the wetness but can feel too warm when mostly dry. Best to either adjust it from hot to warm as it is used or not to have it on hot at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Senior with Alzheimer's I bought the bidet seat for my late husband so I didn't have to wash him in the shower as often. He was 6ft 2 and I am 5ft 2. Cleaning him was much easier with bidet when he sat down. Hospice Occupational Therapist was amazed by it. She thinks every home patients should have one. It is so easy to install with the online video instruction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Years Later and Still Happy! Our Swash has been used every day for the past two years and it's still going strong! Easy to install, easy to remove for cleaning, and easy to operate. Although skeptical at first that I would use or need such a product, I can honestly say that I am now a true convert. Its truly missed when we travel away from home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product meets expectations ! Before purchase, spoke several times with Brondell Support. Purchased once confirming installation capatibilty with existing toilet bowl/tank. Installation could not have been any easier ! Would rate both product and support 6 Stars if could.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as I hoped it would be! Super easy to install. Electric is easier to install than hot water so went for this model. simply "T"'s into the toilet water line. If you can change a toilet seat and change a toilet flexible water line you can install this bidet seat. Works as advertised. Sure the water flow is not as great as a stand alone bidet but it easily does the job. If I had the room to add a separate bidet, yes I would, but I don't in this house. I miss not having a bidet and this is the perfect solution. All nozzle adjustment, water pressure, stream width, stream movement, self rinsing, all work as advertised. Dryer probably won't dry completely unless you intend to finish the Sunday paper, but it is forceful and very warm. I am very happy with this item and would recommend it to others. I am glad I didn't go for the lower end models because the added features are nice to have. Granted I have never used a bidet seat before but have had several traditional bidets in other houses and this will do nicely. Again the install was much easier than I expected, truly 15 minutes.
