Customer Questions & Answers

Does this work on Polyester/Nylon polo shirts?

Asked by: Lulu
It works on pretty much any fabric. The key to successful embroidering on any fabric is the stabilizer and the needle. You must use the correct stabilizer and needle for the different types of fabric.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustrated Too many problems with thread breakage needle breakage and bobbin nesting I've had my machine for less than a year it's been in the shop twice and I still have problems I don't have time for this I do work for the public I'm always behind because the machine problems I started out with the brother 500 that machine is a little Workhorse but have had nothing but trouble with my 770 I think brother could make a lot of improvements to this machine

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst purchase ever! I hate this machine!!! It has yet to produce any quality project! The thread is always bunching up on the bottom, it is constantly jammed! I was finally able to embroider on a washcloth by changing to the size 11 schmedt embroidery needles double layer of heavy weight bottom stabilizer and top stabilizer of water soluble. I also basted it all together with a long machine stitch. Then tried the exact same method on a dish towel and guess what?, complete failure! I am frustrated and regretting having spent my hard earned money on this machine. I grade this machine an F minus with no star rating.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from brother pe770 I do not find the book has enough detailed instructions for beginners. I wish the left front of the machine opened up so it would be easier to install a needle. I find my needle breaks frequently during embroidering which causes the embroidering to be interrupted. I finally figured out how to go back to stitches to repair the skips. When the needle breaks, it sometimes causes it to go off pattern in appliqueing. I finally figured out how to rip out the stitching and turn off machine and return to the correct position in the appliqueing process.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from PE-770 Review I think this is a great embroidery machine but with any of the Brother machines, there needs to be a way to open the end where the machine is threaded to. Many times the thread has broken up in the machine and it takes an act of the universe to get out the end. Also since 99% of machine embroidery thread comes on cones, why not have a dang cone holder on the machine. I have yet to use the spool holder built into the machine because of this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever I purchased the PE770 in December 2015. I used it until June 2016. Then it broke. I had it "repaired" 3 times, but nothing worked right after the repairs. My choices were simple: Buy a new machine OR return product for (potentially) a new PE770. I bought a new machine because I thought, "why throw good money after bad". The new brother machine (VM6200D) is barely a month old, but is working great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love the machine! I am excited to have my machine and would give 5 stars if I felt local dealers would be more supportive offering classes. The Brother authorized dealers I visited did not carry this model and wanted to sell a much more expensive model. This machine had great reviews and fit in my budget. I am looking forward to learning everything I can and creating beautiful projects!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For a home machine This machine is excellent for home embroidery, like all sewing machines when it works well its enjoyable when it starts to need maintenance its frustrating. The machine should have had a metal plate not plastic on the top. Clean it often in the bobbin area keeps it running smoothly.
