Customer Questions & Answers

Can this product be installed over concrete? If so, what is the installation process?

Asked by: Anonymous
We had it installed over our cement floor 5 years ago. We did the Master Bedroom. a Guest Bedroom, Den, and a large walk-in closet. The installer did a check of moisture levels at the corners of the rooms and said it was okay. They pulled up the old vinyl floorin and glued the new hardwood flooring down. Took a few days to do it all but we have had no problems with the flooring since then. We're getting ready to go back to go back to Home Depot to get the rest of the house done. Hope they say they can do it.

I gave a 4 star rating mainly for how the product looks after it's installed. Getting it installed is not easy task even with a good pneumatic naiIer due to product quality issues. I understand that it's Natural, but there were too many warped boards and bad factory cuts. During installation, I spent time ripping out bad boards and replacing with a good ones. I have about $90 worth of bad boards that I will need to use in non-open areas. Total sq. ft. installed is around 750. My recommendation to Bruce is to allocate more money to the quality control department.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not purchase I had this product professionally installed 7 months ago. I now wasted money and gained a floor with gaps, split boards, and feet that get splinters when I walk across the floor. I must remove and replace the entire floor. Home Depot and Bruce will not stand behind the warranty. Home Depot stated that it was not covered under warranty. It was revealed that the store manager gave the warranty info to the contractor and my problem is covered. Home Depot asked my contractor where he found the information. The contractor told Home Depot that he received it from the store manager. If you want to pay for a floor that will last two months, this is your product. My home has Bruce Flooring from 20 years ago. Very different product now.

Had Bruce gunstock oak installed in living room and dining room 16 years ago still beautiful never been refinished, despite traffic of 3 dogs. Didn't have enough money to do the 20 ft hallway so plan to do it now. You can't beat hardwood flooring. May cost a bit at first but they'll pay for themselves over time. Easy to clean no allergy problems can be resanded, finished and you have a brand new beautiful floor.

Finish is excellent and color uniform. I have used the product before and found it to be good. This time there were a few more warped boards than in the past, but that is likely a storage issue by the retailer. Overall it met my expectations and the price is reasonable.

It was installed in a hallway on my top floor just yesterday which is a set of stairs away from my middle floor on which we had installed this same flooring except in a wider version which wasn't available when I ordered this particular hardwood made by the same company in the same color. The floor looks great.

All boxes were in good shape but the there were many warped and damaged boards. Could save many by cutting around bad spots. 192 sq foot floor. Bought 220 sq ft, was left with 6 sq feet. That's a lot of waste. Rated average because my first time buying produ.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very frustrated with this batch of wood. This purchase was the worst batch of hardwood that I've ever purchased. WAAAAY more than the 20% overage allowance for non-perfect boards. Thankfully I had a friend who had an extra two boxes of the color i needed so I could get the project completed. There was no time for a re-order.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great DIY flooring project There's nothing like the feel of a solid hardwood floor. We have installed multiple Bruce pre finished hardwood floors over the last 20 years. The finish is better and more durable than the urethane applied after sanding.
