The Home Depot photo is misleading. The tiles consist of four 6" x 6" sections which are glued together to make a 12" x 12" tile. Photos attached.

Answer:
Mine came as full 12x12 tiles composed of 4 6x6 sections with tongue and groove edges. They are just lightly glued together so some may break apart during handling. Just be sure to let the wood aclimate to the house for a few days before installing and fill anty small gaps with a tinted filler to improve the finished look.

Answer:
The product comes in 12" squares but each of those if made up of four 6" squares and each of those 6" squares is made up of seven tongue and groove flooring boards with alternating grain directions on adjacent squares. The coloration and grain variation is what makes these little works of art.

This product does not have the attached foam backing. You will not need to purchase a separate underlayment. We would recommend to install directly to the subfloor using either Bruce Equalizer, Armstrong Proconnect or Armstrong 57 adhesive. Answer:
These tiles have a tongue-and-groove system for interlocking. They must be glued or nailed down, though. The tongue-and-groove keeps them lined up for smoothness across the top.

Answer:
depends on how the slab is constructed - if you don't know - rent a 'concrete hole saw' and bore out a sample. must have water barrier and have 'seasoned' - 60 days min - longer better.
Then read the manufacturers instructions and FOLLOW them! done right will last a century

Yes, this hardwood can be installed over a concrete slab. This 5/16" solid hardwood has only one installation method, which is glue down with either Armstrong ProConnect, Armstrong 57, or Bruce Equalizer.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Hard To Find Parquet is apparently not "in style" at the moment, so purchase options are somewhat limited. I ordered a sample of this from Home Depot (which costs $10....) and it looked ok, so I placed a full order. When it arrived, I noticed it had more dark areas overall than the sample would seem to indicate. Picture of the floor attached, so you can see how it compares to the image displayed here. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repairing Parquet Hardwood Flooring Although the shade of the American Home Parquet hardwood flooring differed from our 25+ year floor, we feel the result of the repair still came out very well. For some reason, a portion of our original floor buckled and needed to be repaired. The replacement set from Home Depot was very reasonably priced and was delivered quickly. The repair was straightforward since the replacement 6" x 6" parquet tiles were physically compatible with our old flooring and easy to be glued in place. We ordered enough tiles for just in case there will be more repairs to be made on our old but still good looking floor. March 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Heartbreaking, poor quality This product has gone way down hill over the years. I have 500 SF installed in two rooms about 12 years ago. We ordered 275 SF for an adjoining bedroom. I opened two boxes and pulled 30% that I would not be able to put down because of disjointed sections and chunks missing from the oak strips. This material might be acceptable if it was filled, sanded and refinished after it was put down, but why bother. Sad example of "Made in America" July 18, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fit great with older parquet floor, no glue issues Fit together with older parquet floor already in place. I didn't have any glue issues as indicated in some other posts. December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good match Good match with old parquet flooring. I don't think we installed it according to specifications - we just glued it down - but seems perfectly fine. Cuts were not easy and took some time - purchase extra. Purchased it online as it was not available in stores. Easy pick-up/good service. (Boxes are heavy.) January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by They look beautiful..... Fairly easy to install once you get the hang of the tongue and groove. Although only a small patch of the floor, it looks great. January 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor quality We bought this to do a pantry floor that was near another parquet floor. We knew we could not match it but close was good enough. While the color was close the product quality is horrible. There were huge gaps between the fingers that could not be closed. Many of the fingers had slashes in the middle that went all the way through. We could not even get 8 pieces out of the box of 25 that were good. We made do as we only needed 8 but I will never buy this again. Someone needs to do quality control before they sell. November 3, 2015
