Read the installation materials for hickory which stated it should not be nailed down. The other other methods are okay per Bruce.

How thick is the wear layer on this floor?

Asked by: Anonymous
Call Armstrong for the exact spec, I was told it could be refinished once by a rep, however, my experience after 18months in a residential high traffic area, it will be a long time before a wear layer is a concern.

Were to get stairnose in 3/8 in this color

only showing stairnose in 3/4
Asked by: Roz
I too, have been trying to but stair nose. They discontinued it and the Armstrong people recommended using cap threshold, which is not stair nose and will look lousy being used for this purpose. I would have expected better from Armstrong/ Bruce. The best solution I have found is to purchase the stair nose for the 3/4" solid Vermont syrup and then mill out the unfinished side to 3/8". This can be done with a router or carefully on a table saw. A lot of work for something which should be available from the manufacturer. I would also suggest you file a complaint with HD, as we need to discourage them from carrying incomplete products. Yes, I am just a little ticked off about this.

Our local home depot restocks pretty regularly, we bought a total of 2,000 sq ft several months apart and on the plus side, the finish and color was consistent.

American Vintage Scraped Vermont Syrup 3/8 in. T x 5 in. W x Varying L Engineered Hardwood Flooring (25 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Did a 1200 sqft install on concrete slab 1 year ago now. It's been a excellent product and I would HIGHLY recommend. Durability is fantastic, its very hard to scratch. Spills, IF YOU BEAT IT TIGHT TOGETHER are not an issues, can't say enough about how well it's performing. We've had no deformation what so ever. We used Bostik Greenforce adhesive, an amazing product on its own, with no issues at all. Greenforce is a water barrier and adhesive. No warping, splitting, pops, etc., etc. One other major advantage for the DIY install, spoilage or waste is less than 1%. with the random lengths and a little patience one can fit each row with minimal cutoffs, unlike the pros who aren't paying for it and are on the clock. This is presuming a square install vs on a bias which needless to say will require the 5-10% typically needed.

We started with this in two rooms as we were concerned about scratching the finish. We have a Lab, two young children and now have it on stairs and high traffic areas. It takes a beating and looks like new. I've floated at grade and glued on the stairs, both install methods have produced great results. Matching trim is expensive, but well worth it in the end. I have found a few pieces with flaws, but Home Depot exchanged them without issue. The one downside, doing a 3000 sqft house takes a while if you install it yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! We had this flooring installed by a professional. It is beautiful and after a year still looks like new. I worried and worried about this choice because flooring is so expensive but this was reasonably priced. I absolutely love this flooring. It was the key to us selling our house. And I am planning to put it in the home we just bought. Excellent finish that even held up to our Scottie. The only reason I gave it a lower mark on "ease of installation" was because I purchased the Bruce glue that was recommended and the installer stated that the glue was very difficult to work with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality and Performance for the past 3.5 years - will buy again! I purchased this when it was on sale for $2.49 at Home Depot in 2013. Was professionally installed glue-down and has worn absolutely beautifully. Cleaning was a breeze with my homemade distilled vinegar diluted with water and a few special essential oils {don't bother with pre-made specialty cleaners or murphys as they leave a horrible film}. Cannot express enough the incredible value of this product. Mistakenly moved a dresser with nail that scratched deep but was able to repair with Walnut stain so it is unnoticeable. HD didn't carry matching Bull or T-Nose thresholds, so I purchased the Red Oak and used a Walnut stain which matched perfectly. You cannot go wrong with this product -> high end look without the price and simply divine to walk on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Our Flooring I actually already wrote this review once, but my photo never got published. I felt it was really important to add a photo so everyone could see how gorgeous the flooring is. So I'm reposting my review for this reason. :) We actually ended up buying this flooring for $2.49 a square foot because of a random sale they had in the store. We saved so much money. It was exactly what we were looking for! We are extremely pleased with it. Besides the fact that it is pretty scratched up thanks to our 70 pound dog, but we knew what we were getting into by choosing wood over vinyl/laminate etc. It is such a beautiful color. It brings a new level of cozy to our home. Would order again for sure.
