If Bruce had better quality control and cared about the product it is producing this would have the potential to be one of the better flooring options on the market. Sadly, what I received was two things 1) About half the order looks absolutely amazing... rich full tones, an array of variation makes this the perfect modern hand scrapped flooring option 2) Other half of the order is absolute garbage... a flat, washed out finish that appears to have been sun faded is a stark contrast to the other half.
Not sure how a company who has been around for more than 100 years can produce such a sub par product for this price. Will not be using Bruce next time.

My wife and I have been blown away by the look, feel, and overall quality of this hardwood flooring, and so have the vast majority of our house guests. We were *almost* dissuaded from purchasing these floors by the other reviews posted here. However, we considered the issues that they presented, in the context that they presented it, brought a sample home, and ultimately let the floors speak for themselves. We could not be happier that we decided to purchase these floors.
Style we purchased: 3/4 in. thick 5 in. wide solid hardwood.
Number of cases: Dozens.
Method of installation: Professional.
Placement: Throughout entire home.
Here is a summary of our experience:
1) Floors were expected to be delivered in 8 days, we received them in 4 days.
2) On the day of delivery, the delivery driver was timely, friendly, and extremely helpful.
3) Floors were neither bent nor otherwise damaged in any way. Not one case.
4) Finish was fantastic, with excellent variation in color and size.
5) Installation was a breeze, though in fairness we had professional installation.
In terms of the other reviewers, which had a so vastly different experience, maybe they just got a bad batch and we got a good one. It happens. But, our take, based on their reviews, is that they either had a different thickness (I don't see how 3/4 in. thick solid hardwood is going to bend at the extreme that they claim; though it is common and reasonable for some bending to take place) or were not professional contractors and had the wrong expectations about hardwood flooring.
If you're not a professional contractor, don't give these floors a poor review for ease of installation or installation issues. You probably didn't have the right tools and experience (thus problem-solving ability) to install flooring. Period. Flooring isn't a picture puzzle for ages 5 and above, so don't install it yourself if you don't know what you're doing (even if you think you do). Furthermore, if you want the exact same color and dimensions from every single piece or section of wood, then you should be buying vinyl floors, carpet, or ceramic tile. Real, premium hardwood flooring is expected to differ in its grain, color, size, and overall appearance.
For those of you considering this flooring, take a sample home. If the style fits with your desired design, and you're expectations are aligned with the reality of what solid hardwood flooring provides, then don't hesitate for a second about purchasing this flooring. Otherwise, grab some vinyl, carpet, or tile. Seriously.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bd Beautiful product just be prepared for bad quality.
First off I am a homeowner who installed flooring myself. I have done 4 3/4" installs but this was the first time with hand scraped and at 5" wide boards. I loved the unique color which is why I chose it. Has almost a dark barnwood look to it that is an attention catcher. Plus I have two kids and a small dog so I wanted something that wouldn't show scrapes and dents.
To the people who complain about imperfections, warping, inconsistent sizes, etc, this is real wood and is expected. Deal with it or better yet install laminate or engineered. To me there is nothing better than stepping on real 3/4" floors.
I'm used to dealing with these issues. Learned to inspect every piece and mark problem areas. Surprisingly this was the least warped product I have used. However the surface quality was bad. Bought 36 boxes and 7 boxes I ended up exchanging after filling them with bad product. A lot the pieces would rip your sock off. HD was wonderful in working with me. Did some research and Bruce quality has bottomed out. Found out that I was getting 2nds and 3rds for quality. At this price we should be 1sts and 2nds.
However once the floor is down it looks stunning. More brown than the samples show but enough gray to give it that kind of modern cabin look. I would recommend the color and finish for sure. Just expect to be exchanging some product. Bruce knows their quality sucks but are willing to make it right. Not sure how a contractor would deal with the quality but my guess is they install it. Which is why I do it myself.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by mkuf713 Beautiful look, but this isn't a perfect product
Just had our Vintage Wolf Run solid wood floors installed. They are absolutely gorgeous, but like a few others, we had issues with Bruce's lack of quality control . A few of the long boards were warped and the finish on many poor (some had pink, yellow or blue paint on them, the clear finish varied greatly and/or some boards were so rough you would get a splinter from walking across them). That being said, I am totally happy with the end result. I was looking for something different than your standard wood floor and this nails it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Branflakes Horribly Disappointed
It's hard to believe a manufactured product could be such poor quality. Most long boards were bowed. Some boards were 5", some 4-15/16", others 5-1/16". Board ends weren't even square, out over 1/16" per foot. I secured prefinished wood in order to have a controlled finish and quick install. What I got instead was a horribly inferior finish, and wasted time and money. Purchase at your own risk!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DD So much better than the picture!
Wanted rustic and something with a lodge style look that was also a hard wood. Really impressed with the flooring, was concerned it would look too much like the oak floors of the 90's but this had a good mix of dark tones and planks with character. Be sure to prelay or go through the boxes if you want to mix boards with character in with plainer boards, not all boxes had character boards. My husband and I installed it ourselves, if you have a working knowledge of how to do it dyi is not very difficult.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by LoveMyFloor Rustic Modern
I love my floor..it is exactly what I wanted. I was looking for rustic modern at an adorable price and this fit the bill perfectly. My only caveat is that 25% of the wood was very blotchy when it arrived. It was really unusable and we did a lot of sorting..Home Depot exchanged the boxes and made everything right in the end and I am very pleased with the result.
This is a rustic floor with a lot of natural imperfections including knots and worm holes. If rustic isn't your thing this would not be a good choice. If it is then you will likely be satisfied.
It is a good value for 3/4" solid oak.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Ray Not sure about others but the Quality Control is terrible.
I had a small room to do with this product. I would say only 60% of the boards went easy, the rest was a fight to get them in place. Some was so bowed that I couldn't even lay them, and when you pay $5.79 a sq foot, this should not happen. My room was only 156sq ft and unfortunately I have 1 more left and I am kind of stuck with using the same wood.
