How does this compare to the Bruce Oak Seashell (Model # CB530) I bought in July that now says is discontinued? This description says the edges are square on this model, but the previous model has eased edges? Does anyone actually know from holding this product whether the edges are eased or not?
Asked by: Needamatch
Hi Armstrong, the description you provided says eased edge, but the description for CB1530 says squared edges. If it's actually eased edge then it matches the CB530. I've ordered a sample to see if they match.

Trim pieces

Does Home Deport offer the quarter-round, reduction, and bull-nose pieces for the Bruce Oak Butterscotch hard wood floor pieces (3 1/4 x 3/4). I know Bruce makes them and Lowe's' offers them but I can find them on-line at Home Depot.

Customer Reviews

Bayport Oak Saddle 3/4 in. Thick x 3-1/4 in. Wide x Random Length Solid Hardwood Flooring (22 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from love color and patterns, too many damaged planks thus too much waste in material and dollar value. We love the color an the oak patterns. However, there is a lot of planks with damages, about 2 boxes what a waste. I think Bruce should upgrade their quality control of each plank before packaging. It is not fair for the consumer to pay for so much wastage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolute Quality It is a requirement that one use a slant nailer to install this product with a minimum pressure on the pneumatic setting of 100 lbs/in. If you have never used this tool you must practice nailing a couple of scrap pieces to get a feel for the tool and how the flooring will accept the nails. You will also need a jig saw with a fine blade for plywood for making any cut-outs. Your floor will have minor depressions and rises in it - all floors do. This will cause adjacent pieces of flooring to want to separate and leave a gap. In most cases the slant nailer will draw the flooring pieces together, but in some instances given the depression or rise it will not. To address these issues you will need a house jack positioned against a 2X4 nailed to the 3/4" plywood subfloor with the head pressing the plastic piece used to tap the flooring pieces together. Slowly expand the jack pushing the pieces together, then nail while jack is engaged. ALWAYS CHECK BELOW THE FLOOR BEFORE NAILING TO ASSURE NO PLUMBING OR ELECTRICAL FIXTURES ARE IN THE WAY, AS THE NAILS CLEAR THE 3/4" STANDARD FLOORING BY 3/8" INCH. Remove any trim from the room and leave at least 5/8" to 3/4" space with chalk line against the wall for expansion and position your floor pieces against this chalk line. GO SLOW and take your time making certain to position random pieces of flooring such that you do not create contiguous cross seams in the floor.
