This is an excellent product and looks wonderful. It's solid oak, with a great finish. The value is what makes this worth considering. It's a great balance of excellent quality along with a very reasonable price. I researched this and other products quite a bit and ended up with this - and am very happy I did. I did living room, dining room, and kitchen (I installed it myself).
Product quality was very good and within expectations....I'd say about 5% waste / unusable wood but that's within expectations. Most boards were very 'true'....the only issue (within the 5%) were a few boards that had black streaks / discolorations due to the underlying wood. But again - this was minimal and to be expected....always but a little extra.
At $3.99 per square foot this is a no brainer....I only wish i had done these floors years ago.

We purchased this to match existing floors in our entry- we were able to continue this floor in the adjoining living/dining room. My husband and I have installed many different types of floors and this was definitely more labor intensive than laminate, vinyl, and even tile. Once we got over the learning curve installation went much more smoothly and I was actually able to install about 90% of the flooring myself (as a sort of but not really very handy person). The quality is excellent, as is the price, and everyone who sees this floor remarks on how gorgeous it is. Installation took longer than I expected, but it was absolutely worth it,

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lance Very frustrated with this batch of wood.
This purchase was the worst batch of hardwood that I've ever purchased. WAAAAY more than the 20% overage allowance for non-perfect boards. Thankfully I had a friend who had an extra two boxes of the color i needed so I could get the project completed. There was no time for a re-order.

contractor installed - only problem big dog claws can mar the surface - we added a mudroom and wanted it to match our kitchen floor we did with the same surface a year ago.

I ordered this as additional boxes to what we had ordered several years ago. I have to admit that it was nicer wood than our previous order. It matched perfectly and very little waste for bad pieces.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by YinzerDahnTahn Love Our Wood Floors But Sun Bleached Some Areas to a Shade of Orange-Pink
Soon after we bought our home we installed about 1200 sq.ft. of this product.
After researching installation online and finding great tips for getting good results we installed it ourselves.
There are ways to straighten even the most crooked pieces. I wouldn't try installing this based on just the instructions in the box. I wish I had a purchased Floor-nailer & Palm-nailer instead of renting. Use a Palm-nailer for areas close to walls. Finished product was beautiful. It's an amazing upgrade where used. Everyone still loves it!
Unfortunately, back then we had the original windows. On the southern side of the house the finish was sun bleached to a pinkish orange. The warranty doesn't cover sun damage. I'll have to refinish or replace those areas at some point. Today we have all new Low-E windows which would have prevented the sun damage. I plan on installing another 1000 sq. ft. upstairs this year. Tools Used; floor-nailer, rubber mallet, chop saw, table saw, extra large flat screwdriver, drill, hammer, shims, pry bar, lots and lots of floor nails.
