It does have a somewhat rippled texture to it when you run your hand over it crosswise. I've actually had a lot of compliments on my floor.

Difference between Bruce and Armstrong

I understand that Armstrong owns Bruce. I see the Reclaimed chestnut laminated wood flooring for sale under both Armstrong and Bruce. Both use the exact same part number (L6604) and have same warranties. Bruce is $2.99 sq ft while the Armstrong ranges from $4-$5. What is the difference between the two?? Does the Bruce brand have minor defects in appearance and sold at a reduced price or something? I want the best product for my money (value).

Answer:
Bruce used to be a higher end brand and now they are one as Armstrong purchased Bruce. We bought the bruce, I see no difference in price and it may be a web site error. The box said Armstrong Bruce on the boxes that housed the planks.

As far as the price is concerned, each retailer will set their own pricing. As far as the quality of this product, you will not see a quality difference by buying this at a Big Box store versus buying this through an independent Armstrong Retailer.
You might be seeing a better price point just because the bigger stores order more quantity and can hit a better price point versus the smaller independent retailers.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking laminate I have not had the flooring installed yet, but have already received lots of compliments on the texture and warmth of the pattern. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product They are really getting good at making these fake wood floors look amazing. Super easy to install, just take your time on the first 2-3 rows until you get the hang of it. Then its like putting Legos together, just find the right piece and your flying across the room. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RECLAIMED CHESTNUT LAMINATE FLOORING We chose this style because of the beauty of the look and that it would bring a complete change to upstairs. It did not disappoint. We love it and our friends loved it as well. Dare I say, it just "pops" on the floor. August 25, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This flooring is absolutely gorgeous. I recently purchased a cabin in a somewhat remote location. It was in excellent condition but the previous owner had installed primarily carpeting with a small amount of laminate. I was looking to do the kitchen, dining area and great room in a new flooring. I considered all options and went with this laminate, primarily due to the ability to match existing wall colors and tongue and groove ceiling. The reclaimed chestnut was a great choice with its color scheme. More importantly, I am very happy with the quality and look and feel. I did upgrade the underlayment. The floor should hold up well with 2 kids and a wife. Highly recommend. August 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome price for commercial grade flooring Got this flooring for a third of the price a local business paid. Commercial grade flooring that will stand up well to the kids and pets. March 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Reclaimed Chestnut Laminate Flooring I needed a laminated flooring in my man cave office and didn't want carpet that needed a chair mat. So putting this flooring down really helped me, especially rolling around my work area. Looks great, smooth and really easy to install. I made a pallet wall for the rustic look in my man cave and this flooring was the closest match that I could find that would work. January 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheaply made product This product was very poorly constructed and very difficult to use therefore I am uninstalling it and returning it to your store soon as possible for a full refund November 5, 2015
