When installing laminate floor in your bathroom, we recommend putting a 1/8" bead of a PVA adhesive (such as our Bruce Everseal or Armstrong 99 adhesive) on top of the tongue when locking the boards together. This will help seal the joints to help minimize moisture damage. We also recommend using 100% silicone caulk around the perimeter of the room in the expansion space between the laminate and the wall or any other vertical obstruction. It is still suggested to clean spills as soon as possible to reduce the potential for a problem.
For your convenience, I've included a link to our recommended installation instructions from our technical database, www.floorexpert.com, for our laminate flooring in a full bathroom application.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great flooring, lousy Home Depot handling I just finished installing this flooring in a master bathroom I've been remodeling. I will say that the appearance and quality of the product is top notch. It looks like a slate tile but of course is much easier and faster to install. FYI I don't fear the laminate getting too wet because our new shower is large enough to towel off in, and we have a floor mat outside the shower door, but I did use glue on the seams as recommended for a bathroom. As mentioned above, the flooring is high quality; very solid with consistent grout seams. On the long side it was very easy to line up and get the click-fit edge to engage and lock. However, once the long edge was in place it was a bit difficult to tap the new piece sideways into the adjacent piece and get it to lock in. Often I had to tap it so hard the entire floating floor shifted, so I had to have someone stand on the adjacent piece to keep it from moving. That is my only complain about the flooring itself. My biggest complaint lies with Home Depot, specifically the way the product was shipped and handled. This flooring is a special order so it was boxed and shipped to my local HD store. When I got home and took the flooring out to allow it to acclimate I could see that the boxes had been moved, handled and stood up on the ends. Of the 24 pieces I purchased (4 boxes, 6 per box) at least 10 of them had damaged corners and ends, some very severely. I was able to use the badly damaged flooring as end pieces because the ends had to be trimmed off anyway, but a 40% damage rate is unacceptable. Nearly half of the click-fit sections were bent and broken somewhere, so I had to manually inspect each piece and fix those that would obviously not fit together without repair. This added time and aggravation to an otherwise straightforward DIY job. The floor is down (my wife loves it too) and the bathroom looks great. Five stars for the product itself, but only 2 stars for the HD warehouse and shippers who damaged a large portion of my flooring order. June 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Flooring I love the flooring, easy to install. Looks like a sleek slate tile but more durable. I have lots of kids hoping it holds up so far its pretty great! March 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good flooring The flooring was intuitive and easy to install and I really like the look of it. The reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because of the issue with the grout lines that a previous review noted. I don't think it's as big of an issue as he noted, maybe they have done some quality improvements since then, but it's a mild annoyance to deal with when it occurs. November 13, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I like it I think it looks just like the enlarged picture. I am very satisfied with what I got. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Black slate shadow laminat flooring I purchased the black and white slate flooring for kitchen and dining area so I needed something that would flow into the foyer and this black slate was perfect! My daughter said our foyer reminds her of the Kardashian's foyer! September 8, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great but... This was the 5th laminate or cork floor I've installed. We like how the floor turned out. However, each piece is cut differently. Some pieces have little to no grout showing on each end and on each side. Some have huge grout edges. It was very time consuming to find the right piece for each piece being laid so we didn't end up with huge or tiny grout lines on all sides. The interlocking grooves worked great for the most part, but lining up the grout lines was a huge pain. August 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Quality poor I was shocked at how easy the ends bent, and how hard it was to put together. I have done 4 different floors in the past, including a huge living room and dining room. This was just a small 8 x 8 room. I used similar tile (laminate planks) in the kitchen, and it went in fine. The planks just were not tough enough slipping in, I swear the ends and some middle areas broke way too easily. And this was not cheap! My kitchen laminate tile was sturdier and $10 less. I have the proper tools and definitely know how to use them. This was disgusting, and I will not purchase an Armstrong floor again, if that shabbily made. Unfortunately in order to finish this floor I have to purchase another box, as much as I hate to. October 4, 2013
