Customer Reviews

30 in. Magnetic Sweeper Pickup Tool is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from does what it says This device works great. As mentioned in the other reviews the handle is very wobbly due to only one bolt/wing nut holding it on, but by drilling one additional hole for another bolt solves the problem easily. The wheels are adjustable by a few inches so when working on slightly uneven terrain or in grass you can adjust the height. The only drawback to this is that the wheel assembly must be taken off to secure the bolt head. The design of the magnet head within the aluminum casing is great and the release mechanism is smooth and easy to use. My 9 & 11 year old daughters rolled this around our gravel driveway for about 10 minutes for a test drive and they filled a quart jar full of nails, screws, bottle caps, wire, and bits of rust. We just bought an old farmhouse with two acres and this product is going to be perfect for cleaning up the little pieces we've found everywhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great at clearing, very weak handle It arrived quickly, the magnet is very strong and the wheels are functioning fine, it clears my ground of metal very well. Per other comments, as I was assembling the handle the securing screw immediately broke. I had to drill new holes in the handle and insert a bolt. Also I drilled and re-secured new bolts where the handle meets the body of the magnet as that appeared very weak and I expected it would break soon too. So if you are ready to drill and fix the places of poor design I would recommend it, otherwise no.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job The sweeper picks up metal pieces, staples, nails etc. It's not very sturdy and I anticipate the handle will break before anything else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 30 inch magnetic sweeper Easy assembly. Wheels should be mounted farther to rear so unit would touch wall or base boards to pick up nails along wall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised and expected. After having a roof replaced on my house and garage I needed something more than workers picking up loose nails they could see. This completed the job picking up those nails that had been missed on a gravel drive and parking area. Easy to clean the nails off the sweeper also. Replace the thumb screw with a self locking nut and the handle will remain secure no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy and does what is promised.... This is must tool for when you have anyone working outside your home on any projects with dangerous metal nails and metal in general. This tool picked up what I couldn't see...even staples that are otherwise missed by your sight. The handle is a little wobbly but sufficient for the task. the height is adjustable too for uneven surfaces. I had contractors doing siding work and after they finished, I caught at least 30lbs of rusty used nails and recovered at least 5lbs of reusable screws that fell during the project. two thumbs up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value. The magnet met my expectations. It does an excellent job on smooth surfaces but is harder to use in sand, gravel, or where there is grass. It is useable even in grass but clumps of grass will rake items already picked up off the magnet. Just takes a little patience and effort and frequent cleaning off the nails, etc. when used in grass or rocky areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says it does Very pleased with the purchase. We pick up a lot of appliances and televisions in our trucks for service from businesses throughout Alabama, and you would be surprised at the number of screws that somehow end up loose in the back of our trucks. These invariably end up in the parking lot, and result in a lot of punctured tires. I took this simple device around the parking lot for a quick spin and was impressed with the near constant "tink tink tink" of it picking up metal. It picked up so much that I had trouble pulling the release lever to get the magnet to disengage. Most of the metal refuse was rust chips from various vehicles over the years, but it found about 30 big screws also that could have popped a few tires. If I prevent one bad tire, then I've definitely paid for this cool tool. This item rolls smoothly, the handle is adjustable. Really quite easy and effective. I recommend it highly.
