CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This product is easy to install I have installed about 13 of these doors in my home and cabin, they are easy to install if you replace the middle hinge screws with a three inch wood screw and level up the hinge side of the frame first, the rest of the door frame will fall into place with very little shim truing necessary. I clear coated the doors without staining them; I am not sure how well/even the stain would look. December 7, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice door I purchased this door from Home Depot because it appeared to be well made and because of the brand name. I am very happy with it. January 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and it looks great! For my home this door is just right. It cuts down on the noise from the living room and the hinges are quiet and smooth. I love the way it looks too. August 15, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the price I bought two of these 10 months apart. The first one I got was better constructed. But for the money they are fine. Once they are in they look good. I had to add a few finish nails to the door stop strip as it seemed a bit loose. The doors and the jam are straight not bowed or twisted in anyway. As long as you know you are not getting a Steinway then you will be fine and happy and have nice looking door. February 25, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PREHUNG DOOR HAS NO MOLDING WHEN I ORDERED THE PREHUNG DOOR, I ASSSUMED SINCE I WAS NOT GIVEN A CHOICE OR TOLD DIFFERENT THAT MOLDING CAME WITH THE FRAME, IT DID NOT. I SUGEST THAT THE PUCHASER BE TOLD THAT WHEN HE ORDERES A PREHUNG DOOR THAT MOULDING DOES NOT COME WITH THE FRAME OR GIVEN A CHOICE TO ORDER THE DOOR WITH FRAME AND MOLDING. June 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic door Very nice looking door, excellent quality. Two coats of clear finish, and you have a quality door. April 2, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not as good as the ones I bought at HD maybe 8 years back. I thought these were of the same manufacturer when I bought 5 interior doors for our downstairs about 8 or so years ago. I stained them with Minwax Fruitwood and rub on poly and they came out pretty good IMO. Turned out the manufacturer was Masonite. I just bought 8 at HD and the manufacturer is Jeld-Wen. Of the 8, 2 had to be returned for defects. On one, a veneer strip was unattached and I probably could have glued it but then I noticed a chip out of the door. You couldn't see the chip until you removed the top packaging which you can't do in the store. On another one, the complete up-down edge on the off jam side of the door was defective. It looked like they forgot to add the veneer strip and finish it off. This you also couldn't have seen until you remove all packaging and swing the door out. On another one (which I kept) after I installed it, the wood veneer was seperating from the frame. I managed to glue it and would have returned it but I figured the glue will hold - I didn't feel like taking it down and returning it. I tried Watco Danish wood stain (medium walnut) and the result is less than satisfactory. I don't think the oil stain is the problem but more so, the wood pieces the door is made from. It doesn't cover enough and all the different pieces of wood look unattractive. Grain is different directions, knots, different grains (slab, end etc.). These are the exact types of doors (6 panel) that I bought before so I don't know if Masonite was bought out by Jend-Weld or not but there seems to be a quality control issue at least with my experience. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Home Depot and Jeldwen need better quality control I have installed well over a thousand doors as a professional trimmer. Quality control at the door factories must have taken a hit as a result of companies leaning hard on accounting to improve the bottom line. All 3 doors that were recently picked up from HD had quality issues that show a lack of quality control. Poorly mortised hinges, separated joints where header and jamb leg are connected, missing hinge screws and no edge bevel were problems I found on all the doors i recently installed. All of these factors would have caused a weekend warrior type problems with installing the doors. March 5, 2014
