I ordered the 48" shutters and had them delivered to our HD store. The first set was damaged in shipping and HD handled the return.
The shutters come with flimsy plastic push fasteners which at first I didn't think would work with our brick siding. I ruined a fastener before figuring out what works best.
You will need a hammer drill with a 1/4' masonry bit. The key is to drill the hole in the mortar between the brick at least 1/4" deeper than the length of the fastener the first time. Once you put the fastener in the hole it's hard to get it out again and you will probably ruin it.
Another tip is to slightly enlarge the hole through the vinyl shutters so you can easily slide the fasteners through the vinyl and into the hole drilled into the mortar.
I inserted each fastener about half way by hand and then used a rubber mallet to gently tap it in the remainder of the way. The shutters really dressed up the appearance of our house. Good luck!

We installed these shutters in various lengths and widths. You need to have an impact wrench if you are drilling into rock or brick. Our home is rock and each stone has an uneven face. We had to use an exacto knife to carve away some of the plastic (from the back, facing the rock) so that the shutter would fit smoothly to the face of the stone. In one of the box of shutters the plastic inserts were missing, but we had enough inserts overall to do the job.

Shutters are flimsy, and mounting hardware was very cheap. Would not buy again. Plan to pay extra for hardware. If these shutters make it through one wind storm I'll be surprised.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wicked Shutter Slats too narrow?
I have a question that no one seems to have asked. When looking from the street or even the yard, is anyone else able to see through the slats because they are too far apart? We have a brick house, and the brick can easily be seen through the slats. We have looked at other houses to see if that is acceptable, but we haven't come across it anywhere else. Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Doityourselfer Met all expectations -- took a little more time to arrive than I anticipated
These shutters look very nice. They are very lightweight (which is a good thing). Don't be surprised when they seem pretty flimsy when you take them out of the box. Once mounted, they look just like real shutters and I've had the identical product on other windows for years and they still look new. In fact, I was pleased that Home Depot still had them available after I last ordered them almost 3 years ago, so they'd exactly match what I have. The wood ones I'm gradually replacing have become faded and chipped. These hold up even under harsh direct sun and salt air. They took about 10 days to arrive, a little longer than I expected compared to most on-line services. But no one else had them and Home Depot on line has always been very reliable. Would buy again. Recommend.

Great product for the price. Of coarse when you are up close you can tell that they are vinyl, but from the street you would never know the difference. Very easy to install! Hope they last for a long time.
