I have recently given the exterior of my home a much needed facelift. Although I did not see the shutters "live", the color on the internet looked correct. I was looking for a medium/dark grey. The shutters were exactly the length required for my windows and the color was PERFECT. I ordered "Tuxedo Grey". The only feature that may concern others is that the vinyl shutters cannot be painted. That may pose a problem for others, but not for my color needs.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Robert Flimsy & Difficult to Paint
I bought a pair of 15" x 75" Builders Edge shutters from H-D, and have not yet installed them, but was moved to warn others. The shutters are so flimsy that I had to hold the back of the shutter to keep it from bending too much while I was painting them. Couldn't you put a vertical reinforcing piece of plastic cast into the back of the shutter, Builders Edge?
Also, I purchased "paintable" type so I could paint to match the other shutters on the house. Using Home Depot's best Behr paint, it will take at least 2 coats of paint because there's a gloss finish on the "paintable" shutters. Couldn't you provide a surface similar to a primed surface? Using good paint, it should NOT take 2+ coats.
I'm not a picky person, and this is the first negative review I've ever written. These are junk.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by kiwi Great value and enhancement to the home!
Buying the vinyl shutters was an excellent all round experience. Delivery was timely, as promised, and the installation was straight forward. A cordless drill with a masonry bit, along with the barbed matching shutter fasteners made it quick and simple!! This was the least expensive but best bang for the buck home improvement project I have done.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Dood Look nice once installed.
I chose the shutters to replace my old ones after the house was painted. The shutters are pretty flimsy vinyl but look nice once they are up.
The only issue I had was the mounting pegs are weak (plastic) they tend to bend before fully seated. I had to drill the holes a little bigger than the 1/4" stated in the installation instructions.I even clipped a couple to make them work. It is nice they give you some extras because you will probably need them.
Overall they do look great once you get them up.
