These shutters made a huge difference to my house, they make it pop!! They were so easy to fix with the special fixings that came with them. We got them all up in an afternoon. My windows are all different sizes and they had all the sizes online, so this review is for them all. I'm telling my friends to get them as they are so impressed with how they add to the curb appeal. An excellent investment. I bought the ones for the side of the house first and, when I saw how good they looked, I bought the rest all at once. Make sure you measure all the windows as in older houses they are not always the same. Although you can fit them yourself easily, it's good to have someone to stand back to double-check the position... and to pass the tools.

I ordered these shutters to replace some 20 year ones that were damaged from hail.
Home Depot was the only ones I found (in reasonable time) that carried the 15" wide (14.5" actual) ones. Other places had them for less cost but they were 14" wide (13.5" actual). Since I was reusing the holes in the brick from the old ones, width DID matter.
Years ago these shutters were always found in the stores but now they are all special order, which was disappointing. However I understand that they are not too popular anymore and it would be not cost effective to stock the wide variety of colors.
I placed my order and they were shipped in a couple of days. They arrived about 3-4 days later, which was reasonable.
When they arrived the boxes were a bit tattered. Both sets were banded together and the bands tore though the boxes.
One set was undamaged but the other set had a hole though the box and the contents. Bummer... There was a UPS return label enclosed but the fine print said that my CC would be charged for using it. So I returned it to my local store. There was a long wait but they refunded it without hassle and told me to reorder a replacement; fair enough. So I was out just an hour of time and half a gallon of gas...
I reordered for the damaged set and the processing/shipping time was similar. This new set had white bands on it also, tearing through the box! Why the bands on one box when it opened at the ends?? The contents had some damage where the bands compressed the edges of the shutters, making some light colored streaks where the plastic was stressed. I opted to just live with it since it was minor and would not be noticable at a distance.
Builders Edge (the MFR) needs to improve the packaging materials, as there was no wiggle room in the box nor any other protective materials used. Someone needs to eliminate the banding process also.
The new shutters themselves are pretty flimsy for the cost. My old ones were much more durable. The new ones were sagging in the sun when I had leaned them on the bushes as I was getting ready to install them.
The included mounting nails worked well in the existing holes. Just make sure the holes are the right size before hand as the nails go in easily but will not pull out. In my situation, mounting was pretty easy, aside from my bushes being in the way.
The shutters' color (federal brown) is okay, but is not quite an elegant wood color like I had wanted. It resembled the computer image well, including the slight purple tint. However they were better than white and the other light brown would have been too light. Detail was nice.
The day after install we got a bad storm with marble-sized hail and 65mph winds. I lost some major tree branches but the shutters remained!
In the end they did give my home a classier look. I just hope they hold up to the harsh Texas sun and do not change color from the UV rays. Only time will tell!

The shutters (plastic) are held by plastic nails/screws. Need to drill 1/4 hole and tap the heads of the plastic nails/screws into the mortar. Need to install 6 per shutter for quality.

they were extremely cheap looking especially for the price. I have purchased vinyl shutters before in the past that did not look this cheap and actually cost me less. I ended up returning them.
