I have a 380 foot driveway that approaches the house at an angle. The front had shutters but the side that also faces the driveway approach doesn't (3 of them on 3 floors). Since I had scheduled a lift to take down a tall dead tree near the house, I also bought three sets of these shutters which match the ones from the front. Easy install using the lift. Held it in place aligning the top of the shutter with the top of the window as was done on the front. Drill 1/4" hole in upper corner closest to the window. That goes into the window framing so tap that one in lightly with a hammer. Then install the next one down so that you get the alignment perfect. Tap it in. Then do the rest. The ones that are further away from the framing I was able to push in with my thumb. Piece of cake and looks great. Came with one extra "pin" per shutter pair so I didn't end up using any from the extra pack I bought of "pins" that I bought.

The original shutters had cracked I believe because the builders people had tightened the screw to much and they were installed over aluminum siding. This time I made certain that the mounting screws were just at the point where the shutters did not move.

The shutters were fine in appearance but I was somewhat surprised that they were not more rigid. I have older vinyl shutters on another house that are made of thicker material and are not truly louvered but only appear to be.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tony Cheap plastic plugs
The shutters came with cheap plastic one-way-in plugs....impossible to retract in should the future should need arise...real screws should have been provided....I will be using a conventional screw to secure with a painted head to match the shutter...poor engineering to say the least

These shutters were quite easy to install. I put them on the upstairs windows to match existing on the downstairs. Customer was very pleased with the look. Make sure you have the correct sized drill for pre-drilling the plastic fasteners and you will be fine. If you need to go through brick, have a powerful enough drill and proper bit able to drill to needed depth. Then the plastic fasteners will seat all the way. I received 1 extra fastener in each shutter set, so I was able to replace a couple I ruined by not using the exact pre-drill size resulting in breaking the fastener. Knowing this, you will not have to make this mistake.

The shutters are a very good value for the money.
The only slight problem was that they were slightly warped when we took them out of the box. However, they were fine when attached to the brick wall.
These are a good value and after ten years or so will be cheap to replace. No painting needed !

First set showed up cracked, but ordered another set and they were good. Easy to paint and up in a day.
