I don't need to hit a stud? I thought there would be an anchor (female) and a screw (male).

I need to mount a 14 lb. 28" X 24" X 1" deep wall hanging on my patio will one screw hold it? Two? Do they need to hit a stud? Should I use longer anchors? (I purchased 3/16" X 1 1/2". I would think longer to go THROUGH the wall hanging. But what if I used longer anchors and left the screw head sticking out of the stucco a bit and installed a wire hanger on the back of the art then strung it over the screw head? I would appreciate your help. Jack

Answer:
My recommendation would be to purchase our E-Z Ancor Toggle anchor. This would allow you to fasten through the Stucco and leave the excess head of the screw for the wire hanger. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact Tech Support at 800-848-5611 from 8:30 - 5:00 CT Monday - Friday.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great for attaching things to stucco wall I love these Buildex Stucco Anchors and have used a few different sizes over the years. I picked these up to surface mount an electrical box to my house and chose this size since they were the smallest size on the shelf. The included masonry bit works great, even with a standard drill, and makes the perfect size hole for the screws. The screws drive in the stucco easily and smoothly, yet have plenty of grip. They work great. I only needed to use 2 screws and I had my electrical box mounted in a few minutes. Couldn't be simpler. April 29, 2016
