Answer:
No. There is no gauge on the outside. I purchased an inexpensive, plastic water pitcher and marked the level of water to use with a piece of duct tape. I store it in the dishwasher which is close to the coffee maker. It keeps the pitcher out of the way and I use it for watering plants as well.

Answer:
No. Recommend using other (known) measuring container to fill; alternatively, estimate water level by sight (this may result in variations of coffee taste).

Answer:
The carafe is made of a double wall of stainless steel with plastic for the lid.
It's best to use the Bunn brand filters over store or other brand filters. Most of the store or other brands tend to be smaller and the coffee grounds tend to run over and fall into the coffee. I've tried two re-usable filters and they didn't work well.

I would contact the manufacturer for purchase of replacement parts. Due to the durability of the carafe, I see no reason that retail distributors would stock extras in their inventory.

Yes, but why? The insulated carafe does a great job of keeping fresh coffee hot, where the glass carafe will cool off much quicker.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great coffee maker! Simple to operate and makes consistently good coffee, ready in three minutes. Insulated carafe keeps coffee hot, as advertised, and pours easily. Well-pleased with this one. August 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd Bunn coffee maker The first Bunn Thermal coffee maker lasted over 15 years. It became a family member. Always reliable with consistent performance. It just died one day and we were in a panic. So, it was time to buy another and it's been running for close to a month. It's quieter. The basket isn't as tight so it's easier to put in the guides and it pours the coffee without dripping like the older model. This one is better designed than the previous model but it makes the same great cup of coffee. September 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value and reliable Easy to operate and consistent good coffee. Good thermal duration for the pot. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tasting Coffee I was a bit hesitant at first to purchase this unit because of the price tag, but I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought this machine. I've used a Bunn machine when I worked in a restaurant and the machine was built like a work horse and produced great tasting coffee. This machine also produces great tasting coffee that doesn't have that acidic taste. The carafe also keeps the coffee hot well into the morning. Operating this machine is also very simple and there are not a lot of extra features which to me means less things that will break down. Great buy. September 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bunn Velocity Brew Good coffee maker but has several issues that should be addressed. Do not leaving it on all the time. No on and off switch. If you shut the lid on accident hot water pours out. Has happened to me twice when tired in morning. No measure for water. I had to buy something to measure water. Can't set up night before because water can't sit in tank. Will leak. However, it does make good and hot coffee fast. Really like the carafe but you do have to put hot water in before brew so inside of carafe gets hot. If you do not coffee not that hot. Sometimes smell of burning plastic. Go back in forth about returning it. July 8, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very fast coffee This is a very fast coffee maker. So much so that it seems we need to add more coffee in the filter than we did in our previous machine. But it works great. I notice a "hot" smell emitting from the back of the machine periodically, which I hope is just the tank of water heating intermittently....maybe it is only happening because it is less than a month old right now? Wish it would both grind and brew, but I guess you have to choose either fast OR grinding ability. Previously we had a Cuisinart Grind n Brew but had repeat problems with it spilling all over the place. So far we have had zero problems with the Bunn and it is much faster. Oh, it may be helpful to measure your space before purchase since the Bunn is much taller/bigger than some and protrudes from under our cabinetry. April 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good coffee, nice and hot! I would have given it 4 and a half stars if you could. The coffee is good and hot and the carafe keeps it warm for a long time, close to 2 hours. This is much better than my old Bunn where the carafe leaked and only kept it warm for maybe 20-30 minutes. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the carafe has this little piece of rubber on the top where the coffee enters it during brewing. It keeps falling out when I am cleaning the pot and it will probably eventually get lost. I guess I will need to buy a new part when that happens. Maybe they do it on purpose for that reason. Overall though, it is a really good coffee maker. I would definitely recommend it. August 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I like this coffee maker so much, this is a second purchase for a second home. This is not a "bells and whistles" coffee maker. Instead it makes a great, full pot of coffee in 3 minutes, and the carafe keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours. Since the reservoir keeps the water very hot all the time, a fabulous pot of coffee is almost instantly available. The water doesn't trickle thru a small whole, like most coffee makers do, instead the head is like a shower head, so all the coffee gets absorbed, not just the middle part. This coffee maker is great value since it doesn't break down after 1year like all other coffee makers. It also has a 3 year warranty, when all others have only 1 year. October 23, 2013
