Customer Questions & Answers

Bulb size

What is the width and depth inside the glass? The listing shows overall size but not interior.
Asked by: Ndhoof
I use a 60 watt LED that uses only 9 watts of power. This provides a lot of light and is cheap to run. The bulb base is ceramic to you could go up to 100 watts with an incandescent bulb. That will draw the full 100 watts.

Can these lights be dimmed?

Asked by: RichG
Yes if the bulbs you use are dimmable. I am using non-dimmable LED bulbs in mine.

return item

If I buy a item in internet and if the item is not what I want it can I return it in a local store in Puerto Rico
Asked by: pancho
This is a question you should ask an actual Home Depot employee but my experience is , It depends on your reason . . . Given that one should be able to read the product information , You Should know Before you order if it IS or is Not the item you want . A legit reason would be that the item did Not fit the specs as represented ( like you ordered a blue rug and they sent an orange one ) or Was not functional ( for example you buy a yard wagon or cart that requires some assembly but They ship tires that do Not fit the axle on the wagon .) " not what you want " is a tad too generic & immature to base a return decision on " . THINK before you order then have a legit reason to return if necessary .

The overall quality of the fixture is fair; except for the glass globe, everything is very light gage. The overall value is good/very good. However, take note: the fixture's flange isn't sized or drilled for use on standard NEC junction boxes. I had to drill holes in the fixture's flange and bolt the fixture to a standard 4x4 junction box cover which I also had to drill matching holes in (I used the type with a large opening designed for fastening light fixtures). This took additional time and cost. Still, if you have the time to make these adjustments, the fixture is a pretty good value. It is sad that Home Depot doesn't care enough to spec the proper flange size and bolt hole pattern. So stupid. They just don't care about quality. When things don't join properly, they figure you will fix it (with additional trips back to HD) or just bring it back for the next sap to fix!

I looked all around for a light like this, and this one was by far the cheapest, at $9.99 when I purchased it. I've only had them installed for about a month so I can't comment on longevity, but I am 100% satisfied at this point. I installed two of these in our approximately 200 square-foot single car detached garage, to which I recently added electricity. I wanted something protected in case I accidentally bumped the light with a shovel or something, and I also wanted something plain and industrial looking to match the interior of the unfinished 1920's garage. This fits the bill nicely. And the two fixtures give us plenty of light for the space. If you're looking for a simple, functional, industrial looking protected light fixture for a very affordable price, you needn't look any further.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design is way less than ideal but its cheap I bought these for my garage primarily because they were cheap and industrial looking. They are easy to install and mount but they have some annoying features I would not expect even for the cheap price. They dont come with hardware for the box which is ok as a replacement but annoying if you are installing new. Also this fixture is clearly not designed to ever need to change a bulb. The screen has a super tight spring loaded clamp which slips over the glass and it takes a nut and screw combination over the spring and you drop the tiny nut a lot so buy extras. Overall it is mediocre. Cheap made which is what you expect but poor design which I would not.

Easy to mount and I would buy more if I need them. Got 3 of these for $30. Pick up at store was simple and easy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LIght with poor manufacturing Out of the box it appeared OK but it turned out the mounting holes were set too far apart , Hence only 1 mounting screw could be set . With fixtures of this weight , that's usually not a problem but this fixture had the holes on the outside trim so it was obvious only 1 screw was installed ( previous fixture had interior mounting holes ) . The biggest problem however was the mounting hole was so close to the edge of the base trim that it would Not cover the electrical junction mounting box / the edges of the mounting box were exposed regardless of which hole was used . I suspect the designer set up an appropriate trim width but the factory decided to save 10 cents per unit by shaving the size on the mounting trim . Of course even with a trim that covered the junction box , the mounting holes error would still only allow for 1 set screw so it would still show the 2nd unused / empty set screw .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking light My only real complaints are. You have to undo a screw with a nut on it to take the cage off from around the glass globe. Then you have to unscrew the globe from the base. The threads of the globe and base don't seem to be perfectly compatible and that makes it difficult to unscrew the globe and screw it back in.
