Customer Reviews

1 HDMI Wall Plate - White is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Another snafu to overcome Agree with other reviews that state there is not enough room in gang box to fit inflexible neck of hdmi cable plugged into backside of Jack. Poor design. Should list depth of gang box required in bold on packaging. Price was favorable to lowes selection. Made it work. But did cause additional aggravation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not fit well in wall receptacle Unless you have a lot of space behind the wall, or not putting into a wall receptacle box, you cannot connect this in a standard 2x4 wall receptacle box with an HDMI cable plugged in. If you have 2x6 walls and use an extended receptacle box, it would work. What they fail to show you in photo is that the HDMI adapter is a solid plastic extension that goes into wall receptacle 1-1/2 inch. Then you have the HDMI cable that plugs into that which adds another 1-1/2 inch. You just used up 3 inch of space straight back and then the HDMI cable has to make at least 1/2" bend on top of that. This means everything is pushing straight back and you can't push everything into the box. Other HDMI wall plate designs have a flexible cable inside so you can connect it where it comes into the receptacle box. Found that out after this one didn't fit into wall because of bad design practice. No wonder why other companies use another method so it fits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HDMI I gave the HDMI wall plate a 3 star review based on the most important criteria which is the depth of the gang box. Most existing boxes are not deep enough to house the 1 1/2" inner recessed jack in addition to the HDMI cable which calls for either the removal of the gang box and installation of a deeper gang box on existing work (newer houses may have deeper boxes), or partial removal of the back of the box so the HDMI wire is not bent when the plate screws are attached to the gang box.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor design and manufacture Technically it does work, I'm connecting 3ft passive + 30 ft redmere in the wall for 1080p@60Hz. The front design makes a weak attempt at taking up less space by being inset. The rear is WAY too long. I have a deep box for this to sit in, and I have trouble making the cable fit. This would be less of a problem if the manufacture wasn't shoddy, as the cable wiggles in the F-F connecter in the jack. Wiggle it the wrong way and you lose connection. I zip tied the cable to the jack (no help from the jack design) to keep the cable in, tight, and not wiggling to make this work. There is a lot of lateral space that could be used, especially in a single jack plate. A more elegant design would alleviate the stress that exacerbates the wiggle & short problem. Or a better jack with tighter fit and stronger frame would tolerate the lateral forces that such a weak design cause. This is a 3 dollar product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second one I've purchased Unit is great. I'm a contractor and have used this faceplate twice. I especially like it because of the dongle off the back that allows the HDMI connection to move to the side, top or bottom.
