Works great and is easy to install and connect. Wiring diagrams provided for connection of CAT5. One drawback is that there are no wiring diagrams for the RJ11 connector with CAT5 wiring. Make sure you know which wires to use before connecting for phone line.

The product is not wired for the standard US color coded wiring for cat5. All wires are a different color and do not match the orange/green/blue/brown colors with and without stripes. Tried getting info off of HD website with out any luck. Thanks to a previous reviewer they had figured out the color matching and posted it in their review. With this information I was able to wire the connection properly.

I installed five of these plates in my home network and I have been very happy with them. I have not rated this product higher because of the quality issues mentioned below, but I like the simplicity and reliability of the screw-down terminals, especially for the four-conductor telephone cabling throughout my home. The labeling for phone and computer on the face plate is a nice touch and the plate color (white) matched my other plates. A few miscellaneous comments:
As mentioned by other reviewers, this product comes with no instructions at all and the “color-coded terminals for simple wiring” used on the plate do not match standard CAT5 conductor colors. Without the wiring instructions posted by a previous reviewer or an Ethernet cable tester, this product is mostly useless. However, with the instructions, I had no problem connecting these plates to my network. I will post the instructions too, just in case.
The screw terminal wells on the back of the plate have a small relief notch to accept the lead you are attaching. A little more patience and effort is required to use all of these notches but if they are not used the cable lead being attached can get pinched between the screw and the screw well and this can damage or cut your wire. Don’t ask me how I know this. Using the relief gaps also helps to arrange and spread your conductors in an orderly manner. Be sure to remove enough of the cable jacket to allow the conductors to be arranged accordingly.
About one quarter of the jacks on the plates I purchased were very stiff (phone jacks and computer jacks). That is, they did not readily grab the plug and click in. At first I thought the jack was faulty, the fit felt very sloppy. An extra measure of force was required to initially seat the connection. After that, the plugs and jacks seamed to seat properly with a familiar click.
Here are the wiring instructions from a previous reviewer. I printed the instructions, laminated them with clear tape and left them in the electrical box for the next smuck who comes along to work on the plate. Good luck!
Wiring instructions: Start with the blue wire on the plate and go
clockwise (1 – 8) in the following order: Orange/White, Orange,
Green/White, Blue, Blue/White, Green, Brown/White, Brown.

Doesn't follow standard cat5/cat5e color coding scheme, and doesn't come with instructions.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hayden Wiring is not correct to 568 cat5 standards
The product does work well but you will have to spend some time moving the wires around to get it correct. Here is the correct wiring diagram for this product starting top left counterclockwise
Product is always great put a wire diagram should be included if the wiring is not standard.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by airpower77 haven't tested it, but easy to connect
I install 10 of these, but have not tested them. They are easy to connect. I wont write the code, as people have already done so. Some of them have the color code inside package.
I just hope that the free wires inside the box does not reduce its efficiency. I cut just enough insulation to connect the wires. If efficiency is not reduced, I will give it 4 stars. For now, I give it 3.
I would give it 5 stars if it was not hard wired, and was only connected to the jack only and not the hole face plate.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Scott Questionable quality, no instructions
As others have said, the main problem with this or any other ethernet connectors from CE Tech is that they do not come with wiring instructions. The instructions are only available on the Home Depot website on the page with the product desctription.
Reading the instructions are an absolute MUST since the color coding is not intuitive. Even the standard CAT5 solid colors BLUE, GREEN, ORANGE and BROWN do not correspond to the colors on the jack!
A 10 minute job took over an hour because I had to search the Internet for the color code which took me right back here to the Home Depot website. Once I wired it up according to the instructions, it worked fine.
I guess its my own fault for trying to save a couple of bucks and go cheap.

Read the review of "gre1" of April 6th, 2014 and found that to be very helpful, but wanted to clarify a bit as well.
Here's how I matched up the wire colors, and it worked:
Plate Colors---------->Cable Colors
I've uploaded a photo (or tried, webpage seems stuck), and despite appearances, this is how it's wired.
For the phone jack, I only used Red & Green, and they were properly coded.
I did used the little cut-out to where the wire goes in, and I think it saved me from shearing them off.
Bought a box to go into the wall (Carlon, Model # B114RB, Internet # 100404027,Store SKU # 202460, 1 Gang 14 cu in.) to which this attached (~$1), as it was made for a finished wall (vice new construction). Placed the face of the box against the wall, traced the outline, then used a utility knife to cut the drywall. Placed it to avoid studs and where the wires would reach.
