I recently ran CAT6 wire from my router (Xfinity) located in my living room to my office. I purchased 2 of the CE Tech CAT6 connectors. Unfortunately, after following the wiring instructions included in the packaging I was unable to successfully connect to the router. After much research (Google), I found a standard wiring diagram showing a different pinning. After rewiring the CE Tech connectors using the new wiring diagram, I successfully connected to the router. My router connectors must be pinned correctly, since I am able to use a standard (prepackaged) CAT5/6 patch cord directly from the router to my laptop. I also purchased the Coax cable connector along with the Phone Jack connector. Both of these products worked correctly, the first time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 out of 3 failed. I used these to hook up two IP security cameras. I verified the wires worked... 3 out of 3 failed. I used these to hook up two IP security cameras. I verified the wires worked before running them through the walls, but after installing the jack (I tried three jacks!), no signal. I thought maybe I damaged the wire while running it, but I had two separate wires and it seemed unlikely that I damaged both. I bought new jacks and they worked fine, so it was definitely the jacks that were defective.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CE Tech Jacks are Poor Quality Ran out of Leviton jacks, so I swung by HD to buy a half dozen CE Tech CAT 6 keystone jacks to finish up my project. Big mistake. After opening the blister pack, I could see the 8 pins inside the jack were irregular lengths, and several were crooked. Then I Googled "CE Tech" and found the terrible reviews. Returned them all. HD used to carry Leviton, but no more. The CE Techs are about $5 each; Levitons are about $7. Decide what your time is worth: achieving a reliable network is hard enough without having to worry about bad components.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I should have read reviews before Like everyone else that had reviewed, these are trash. I read reviews after installing, wish I had been smarter and read BEFORE I wasted time installing. Patch cables float around in the socket causing connections to drop and cause intermittent failure. Waste of time and money. A zero would have been my preferred rating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NG Bring back Leviton jacks. These jacks are poor quality. Disconnect issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not even worth it if it was free I spent so much time trying to figure out if my line-tester was failing, or if I was somehow inserting the wires wrong into this unit (it's pretty straight forward). After spending WAY too much time on it, I finally looked in the adapter only to see the prongs going in all directions! There was no way these wires were lining up, and likely they were touching one-another. Garbage.... Not even worth my time to go back to Home Depot and return this trash, and if this is the only brand they carry then it looks like I'll be taking a trip to Ace (which is more expensive, but closer, and would have saved me hours of my life).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk! These fail very frequently. I have installed about 60 of these and I have replaced more than 20 of them. Some fail as soon as you plug a cable into them and it bends the pins back inside the plug. Other appear to be working but failed a cable test. Do not buy these I am slowly replacing them so I dont have to worry about them ever.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't accept a plug easily I liked these keystones because they match the Leviton wallplates pretty well. Also, the back of the keystone leaves a wide enough channel for some thick Cat6 to be installed without much trouble. The issue is on the front side, where they don't accept plugs easily. The plug catch doesn't engage easily, and they never feel very snug. Home Depot should start carrying another brand of Cat6 jacks. These ones aren't the best.
