Will it melt vinyl baseboard that is butted up to the ends of it (as my old one is with wooden base board)?

I want to replace the older baseboard in a bath that I am remodeling. I thought of vinyl baseboard because of the moisture. The older (wooden) baseboard was butted up against the ends of the electric baseboard heater. Can I do this with vinyl moulding or will it melt?
Asked by: Grannyfixit
Hello Grannyfixit; Yes you can butt the baseboard up to the side od the baseboard heater because the heating element is locate in the center of the unit with a space on either side. Cost to operate ?

Asked by: Rich
Hello, thank you for your question! There are may factors to consider when determining cost to operate such as heat loss, number of windows, do you have vaulted ceilings, etc. But in the simplest terms, the cost to operate will come down to the wattage of your heater and the electric rates in your area. Electric rates are typically measured in kilowatt hours. So you would take the watts of your heater divided by 1000 to get your Kilowatts. Then multiply this by your utility rate. For example, if your utility charges 10 cents per kilowatt hour, then you take the 350 watt heater / 1000 = .35 X .10 = .04 cents to operate per hour. Keep in mind, that our heaters are controlled by a thermostat and do not run continuously. The heater will cycle off and on in order to maintain the temperature setting.

24 in. 350-Watt 240/208-Volt Electric Baseboard Heater in White is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than Expected Virtually silent as compared to many older baseboard heaters, this little heater really packs a punch for its only 24" size. I considered other more costly heaters, including oil-filled models, but for the low price this one was a super value as well as a great product overall.
