Answer:
It is a good heater, but NOT for a room that needs to be heated quickly. It has no fan.
I would get a heater that has a fan in it. The one you need doesn't necessarily have to
be large, but you want that shower area to heat up quickly so you don't freeze your buns
when you step out of the shower.

Answer:
For the bathroom, Cadet recommends a wall fan heater instead of a baseboard heater because fan heaters provide instant warmth. The ideal heaters for the bathroom are the Cadet Com-Pak Bath or The Energy Plus. We have provided links below for your convenience.

Answer:
You mean: 120 volt 500 watt. If you divide 500 watts by 120 volt, you will see that it consumes only 4.16 amps. Since the standard home circuit breaker is 15 amps, you can plug this directly into a wall outlet with no problems. This means that you have 10.84 amps to use for other electrical devices on that circuit.

Hello 1st timer,
Appreciate the question! This particular baseboard will require a 15 amp, single pole, 120 volt breaker. The size of your wire must match the breaker. In this case, a 14-2 with ground.
We are including a link to an installation video which helps with the details and the thermostat choices. Generally the built-in thermostat models are the easiest to install.
Thank you for asking.

Hello and great question!
Yes, 14-2 wire with ground will work for this heater. Electric heat must be on a dedicated circuit, and remember that the wire has to match the size of the breaker. In this case, you will need a 15 amp single pole circuit breaker.
The Cadet Electric baseboard heater will also require a thermostat for control, and we've included a couple of options below; one is a built-in and Read More

Hi Just asking, your wire must be rated the same as the watts of the heater. You must have a ground for this heater. This unit is rated at 4.17amps. 14-2 is the basic wiring for a house. You might consider using 12-2 romex with a ground.

I am looking for a baseboard heater that has a thermostat built in. The model # 2F500 says it can be used with a built in thermostat but home depot doesn't offer one for sale. Do you know where else I can purchase one for this unit?

The thermostats are optional not built in. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seem to Fit the Bill Needed a small baseboard heater for a half bath. Was easy to install and seems to perform as advertised. Requires a thermostat purchased separately. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great & good price. It is a 500 watt heater and it does what it is supposed to do for small areas. I like it. In the picture, it is shown with an optional thermostat that I customized by adding a 120 volt A/C neon lamp so that I could tell when the unit was on. April 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by USA made! Guaranteed for life The wiring instructions weren't too clear for this 120 volt model. The neutral wire confused me because it gets hooked onto a black wire. I'll explain what I did. I ran 12-2 romex from breaker panel to double pole thermostat and than to heater. I wired from the left side of the heater so the two black wires that are tied together disconnect them and connect romex white to top black wire of heater and bottom black wire to romex black and than use romex ground to the green screw on heater. If you use the double pole thermostat like I did the red wires will be used for the romex neutral wires and the black wires to romex black September 15, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quality product. Placed in a small bathroom on an outside wall and does a great job keeping the area warm. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very basic, uncomplicated, small room heater. For the price this is a very good heater. It was very easy to install. It doesn't come with a thermostat, but you buy that separately, for less than $15.00. This heater does not have a fan, so it take awhile to heat up the room. Once the room is warm, this heater does it's job. No bells and whistles. Just nice looking and functions well. March 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad This heater has been used probably five times and no longer works January 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little nervous at first. Never used a electric heater application before very nervouse in the beginning. I like my home and the things that i work hard for. But after reading the application and following the simple step to install. i felt very comfortable with the installation. Just keep a eye on it for a short while and you will see for your self how well it works. January 31, 2012
