Answer:
This unit must be hard wired, and must be on a circuit that has a thermostat to control it. It is not a plug in model.

Hey Bud,
Just put this in a month ago. It is hardwired. There's a number of access holes on the back that you can pop out, so there's so wiggle room for where your electrical is on the wall.

Hello Chas,
Thank you for your question! Your interest is very much appreciated. The Cadet electric baseboard heaters are permanent mount units that screw into the wood studs in the wall behind the heater. Depending on the model, they are connected, or 'hard wired' to either a 120 or 240 volt electrical power supply line. I am going to put this in a 4' by 6' area outside of a shower stall. Will this unit heat that area quickly or do I need a larger unit?

The 30" unit is the size installed in our 5' x 6" bath with a shower and does very nicely there. Don't think you want to go with anything bigger, in my opinion, for a smaller bathroom.

Answer:
For the bathroom, Cadet recommends a wall fan heater instead of a baseboard heater because fan heaters provide instant warmth. The ideal heaters for the bathroom are the Cadet Com-Pak Bath or The Energy Plus. We have provided links below for your convenience.

This is a baseboard unit which must be hard wired into the house wiring. It is not a plug in unit. It does not come with a thermostat and must be wired into a circuit which has a thermostat.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cadet baseboard finally arrived and installed New heater, newly installed. So far, so good. If it is still working five years from now, excellent. If it lives up to its warranty, superlative. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product Was easy to install and worked as expected. Had this unit shipped to the store, very well packaged, arrived in excellent condition. Used to replace existing 40 year old unit in small bathroom during remodel. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Straightforward and does the job I swapped out two old baseboard heaters with these. They went in quick and easy and have been working great for the past month or so. There's a big red "Danger" sticker on the top that I'm about to take off though since it sticks out so much and is just a bunch of common sense written in bold letters. Only other complaint is that the face is a little more annoying to take off for cleaning. You have to unscrew both side panels that hide the electrical, then pop the face off, which isn't as easy to do as the old ones. But the coils are easier to vacuum out without removing the face than the old ones, so it's not too big a deal in the long run. December 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gret heater and works great and the price is what I hoped to pay for and it beats my expected price range The heater is what I wanted and it works great and the price was right on for this heater April 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks good, works great I replaced another brand of electric baseboard heater with this one. Both were similar length and wattage. The Cadet is a much higher quality unit. The gauge of metal used is clearly thicker and more sturdy, and the unit naturally works perfectly (with a programmable electric thermostat and two other similar units). Very quiet, no noticeable 'popping' that is sometimes associated with this type of heater. Good, clear installation instructions available on line - adequate instructions included with unit in box. I couldn't even properly re-assemble the other brand unit, the parts were so poorly machined that the face panels wouldn't line up properly once the unit was installed and wired in (I have done a fair amount of DIY electrical work successfully). I will only use this brand for future replacement of my home heating system. Also made in USA, big positive there as well. March 14, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works as designed This product is a baseboard heater and the works fine. January 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by look and work well Easy to install. replaced larger baseboard units so electric was already there. December 27, 2011
