Answer:
For the bathroom, Cadet recommends a wall fan heater instead of a baseboard heater because fan heaters provide instant warmth. The ideal heaters for the bathroom are the Cadet Com-Pak Bath or The Energy Plus. We have provided links below for your convenience.

Hello Can't Swim!
Thank you for your question. The Cadet 3' 120 volt electric baseboard will require a 15 amp, single pole, 120 volt breaker. The size of your wire must match the breaker. In this case, your wire should be a 14-2 with ground for the 15 amp circuit breaker.

Depending on the model, they are connected or 'hard wired', to either a 120 or 240 volt electrical power supply line. This is probably a dumb question. Does this heater have to be connected to a breaker box or can it be wired so that it could be plugged directly into a regular 120 volt wall socket.

Either way. I am replacing old with new. so the electrical wiring is already there. I was surprised to learn that the thermostst is extra and is an add on to original cost of baseboard heater.

Thank you for asking and no, certainly not a dumb question. As a vendor, we very much appreciate any inquiry you may have! While it seems like a 120 volt product could easily be wired to plug into a wall outlet, the Cadet electric baseboard heaters are strictly permanent mount units. They are not a portable or plug-in type unit, and are only UL approved for a direct electrical connection.
They install with screws directly into the wood studs in the wall behind the heater. They are then 'hard wired' with a 120 volt electrical supply wire connected to the heater at either end. If you refer to page 3 of the attached instructions, it details how the connections are made inside the junction box:
http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/7e/7ed24a24-7ecd-4fbd-aec6-5bc30ccb0f9e.pdf
For a permanent installation you will also need a thermostat to control the unit, and those related products are listed below.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Electric Heater Heats as advertised shipped as promised Less expensive than Lowes March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3 Ft. Baseboard Heater Good directions. Easy hookup. Good size for a limited space. November 3, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Functional, clumsy installation Decent installation instructions, but pre-drilled holes are on 6" centers, studs are on 16" centers. On a 36" long heater, two holes are not going to align with studs. You either have to install a metal wall hanger or drill thru the rear of the case. Knockouts are not loose enough to allow the knockout to be removed without deforming the remaining metal. Heats up the room much faster than the one it replaced, but it makes a buzzing sound as it heats up. The sound decreases as it warms up. February 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This is a heavy duty and sturdy product This is a great product, but the only problem is that the thermostat does not come with the baseboard heater, as I thought it should. April 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by simple but effective Love the heat it produces and doesn't blow on me. sleek and hidden on baseboard and good color scheme. November 20, 2012
