Customer Questions & Answers

Can I wire this unit and plug it in to existing outlet

Asked by: Rayj
I wouldn't, and the directions state it's meant to be "Hard Wired" direct to the breaker panel, with only a "Proper" thermostat in between to control it's operation.

what is more efficient and economical to run, 120 volt heaters or 220 volt heaters

Asked by: Gil
I've asked this question, and from reliable electricians, I've been told both the 120 & 240 volt put out the same heat, and cost the same to operate.

I will be replacing a 220 volt base board heater with a wall thermostat to a 120 volt.Do I need to change breaker volt?

Asked by: Lynn
ABSOLUTELY! But you haven't provided enough info to properly address your question here. You really need to consult with an "Eyes on the Project" qualified electrician.

Yes, it's attached to a Cadet (made by Honeywell) "Double Pole" Thermostat. Thermostat works fine.

The heater works, and I fully understand it's just "Radiant" heat, without any blower, but even though it's 6 ft long, and rated at 1500 watts, it doesn't seem to put out even 1/2 the heat amount of a portable floor standing 1500 watt heater, with a small variable speed blower.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No More Gas We had one remaining office with a 25+ year old gas wall furnace which was replaced with an inexpensive 120VAC base board heater. This works GREAT! and was quite easy to install. The other BIG selling point was free delivery. It is tricky for me to choose when I am at the store, but online I can go right to what I am looking for. Thank you, Home Depot.
