If 4 units are needed, how are they wired from the circuit breaker(s) ?
Asked by: gnas
Hello, thank you for your question! To wire multiple heaters together on the same circuit you will need to hardwire them in parallel and not series. You will need to split these 4 heaters on two separate 20 amp double pole circuits and use 12/2 wire with ground. Please note the maximum wattage on a 240 volt 20 amp circuit is 3840 watts.

Will this heat 300 sq ft

Asked by: rick
Hello Rick, thank you for your question. When determining which size heater to use, we generally recommend between 6-10 watts per square foot. So you will probably need between 1800-3000 watts to heat a 300 square foot room. If this is a secondary heat source, live in a warmer climate or you have a newer home built after 2000 with good insulation and normal ceilings and windows you can likely be in the lower end of that range. If this is the primary heat source, you live in a colder climate or you have an you have an older home with poor insulation, high ceilings, or lots of windows you will want to be in the higher end of that range.

How energy efficient is this base board heater? How do I determine energy efficiency/cost to operate on any heater?

Asked by: Anonymous
Electric heat is very poor compared to gas, propane or oil... Heat pumps are the most efficient if you have adequate insulation Hard to figure cost.. based upon consumption and KW/HR cost

what is the difference between a 1500 watt 120volt or 1500 watt 240 volts

Asked by: moonin
Thank you for your question. The difference is the circuit breaker you need to use for a 120 volt vs a 240 volt. Generally, 240 volt allows a more efficient use of your power and circuit panel because it draws half as many amps as 120 volt. But the amount of heat is the same in both heaters. The BTU output is identical for both heaters.

What model Honeywell thermostat can I use for wiring two of these units together off of a 30 amp double pole breaker?

Asked by: Jj
Thank you for your question. There are a few options of Honeywell thermostats that will work with wiring 2 of the 72 inch 1,500 watt 240 volt baseboard heaters to one thermostat. For an economical option please take a look at the T410A single pole or T410B double pole thermostat. A single pole thermostat has a high/low setting, whereas a double pole thermostat has a positive off setting as well. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Single-Pole-22-Amp-120-240-Volt-Wall-Mount-Mechanical-Non-programmable-Thermostat-in-White-T410A-W/202247917 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Double-Pole-22-Amp-120-240-Volt-Wall-Mount-Mechanical-Non-programmable-Thermostat-in-White-T410B-W/202502063 If you are looking for more accurate and precise control the TH114 electronic non-programmable or the TH106 electronic programmable are great options. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Double-Pole-15-Amp-208-240-Volt-Digital-Electronic-Non-Programmable-Wall-Thermostat-in-White-TH114/202909807 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-16-7-Amp-120-208-240-Volt-Single-Pole-Electronic-7-Day-Programmable-Wall-Thermostat-in-White-TH106/202247918?keyword=th106

Is there an on-off knob or switch on the heater itself, or is it only controlled by thermostat?

Asked by: Sandeeha
Thank you for your question. The 72 inch 1,500 watt 240 volt baseboard heater needs to be controlled by a thermostat, but does not have a separate on/off switch on the heater. If you would like an off position on the thermostat you can purchase a double pole thermostat, which will give you that option. Please take a look at the BTF2W double pole unit mount thermostat. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Double-Pole-Electric-Baseboard-Mount-Mechanical-Thermostat-in-White-BTF2W/100023275?keyword=btf2w

It was relatively easy. It did have a small dent but didn't matter to me. It was for my bedroom. Lets out heat nicely and was reasonable price. What else could you want? I just need to paint around where the old one was. :)

My contractor installed it, and it would not work. The thermostat was bad. I exchanged it for another, and once it was installed it worked for 6 hours before the thermostat started smoking, and burst into flames. It tripped the breaker and went out, thankfully. I will be purchasing a new heater and thermostat of a different brand.

The product inside the box didn't match the instructions (directions referenced a "red wire", but it didn't exist on the heater). But the heater works well. Also, the heat control on the thermostat I bought for it was upside down (the readings on it had to be mounted on the bottom instead of the top). Thanks, Craig

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really good I had five of these units installed and they work great. They heat up the area very fast. My only issue is that they make noises sometimes; but I read that there is a way to address the noise.
