Customer Questions & Answers

Can this heater be activated remotely through a thermostat with wi-fi capabilities?

Asked by: 1944
You can choose a line voltage, electronic programmable wall thermostat to use with this heater, and program it to your daily schedule. Unfortunately a line voltage wi-fi thermostat is not currently available for use with most electric baseboards. Thanks for your question!

How wide is it at the base where it sits on the floor?

Asked by: Anonymous
This base of this 8 Ft Electric Baseboard is 96" in length, 2 1/2" deep. You can mount it flush to the wall (the case is pre-punched in the back at 1" intervals), and it may sit directly on the floor. Be sure to refer to the Owner's Guide for minimum clearance requirements. You will need to keep at least 12" from objects hanging above it, like drapes, and at least 12" away from furniture or other objects. Baseboards work best when placed under a window, so the cold air that falls from the window area mixes with the warm air rising from the heater, causing the air to tumble gently throughout the room.

IS THIS BASEBOARD HEAYER ENERGY EFFICIENT ?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Shorty, Cadet heaters are energy efficient. Nearly 100% of the electricity consumed is directly converted to heat. They are not Energy Star compliant, but are an energy-saving alternative to heating an entire home or office when only one or two rooms are being used. By heating only the areas in use, you can reduce your heating bill AND conserve energy while enjoying ultimate comfort. By reducing the amount of energy you consume, you not only reduce your monthly utility bill, but also the amount of greenhouse gas emissions. With Cadet heaters, no heat is lost through ductwork or exhaust like central gas systems, which means every dollar spent on heating goes towards heating your home- no energy is wasted. Use a programmable or electronic wall thermostat with your heater to get the best possible energy savings available! Thank you for a great question!

Can i run this unit on 120v / 30A circuit?

Im replacing an existing 2000 watt unit (from prior home owner) that was on this circuit.
Asked by: Mike
Hello Mike, thank you for your question! No you can’t run this heater on a 120 volt circuit. This heater will need at least a 15 amp double pole 240 volt breaker to run the load. Please verify the voltage on the heater that you are replacing and that the circuit is actually a 120 volt single pole breaker and not a 240 volt double pole breaker. Rarely will you find a 2000 watt 120 volt heater.

Can i use 1 or 2 programable thermosatats to operate mulitple heaters in different rooms or does easch room need its own thermostat?

Asked by: Robert
Hi Robert and thank you for your question. You can use one thermostat to operate multiple heaters as long as the combined amperage of the heaters does not exceed the amp rating of the thermostat. Also, each room will need its own thermostat.

The problem was the first one I ordered was delivered with a huge dent in the heater. The box was fine so they must have shipped it all dented up. The second one also has a small dent in it, but I decided to keep it rather than risking having another one sent that was even worse. Once I installed the heater though it heats up quickly and quietly. The 2500 watts makes a difference in getting the room up to temperature quickly. If I didn't get 2 that were damaged in the box I would definitely recommend the heater.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 8 ft. 2000/2500 Watt 240 Volt Electric Baseboard H Easy to order, arrived in a timely manner, packaging should be a bit more secure. Grounding should be more substantial. Good value product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good product I replaced a 10' heater and this one seems to provide plenty of heat. Installation could be more secure if provision was made for 2 rows of screws/nails, not just one. Not all walls are perfectly flat.
