Customer Questions & Answers

Close on rising temp?

I need a thermostat that closes a contact on rising temp for a thru the wall fan. Will the cooling mode do this? Is there a model better suited for this application?
Asked by: Jb
Thank you for your question. Yes, the C600C thermostat will work for your application and closes on rising temperature. This is the only cooling thermostat that Cadet offers, but should be just what you need for your wall fan.

Why only one picture? Does it have an on/off switch?

Asked by: Ernie
Thank you for your question. This thermostat does not have an on/off, it has a high/low setting only. This is a unique thermostat because it can control heating and cooling. If you are looking for a thermostat that has an on/off for heating only I can recommend model C612, see the link below for this item. But note this does control cooling. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-C600-Series-Anticipating-Ivory-Bimetal-Double-Pole-25-Amp-Wall-Thermostat-C612-25/202849699

how do you decide rather you are controling heat or cooling, outwardly looks the same. is there a switch inside?

Asked by: porge
Thank you for your question. The C600 thermostat has the capability of either cooling or heating and would need to be wired for one or the other. This thermostat does not have the capability of switching from one to the other using a switch.

The temperature range for the Cadet C600C Line Voltage Thermostat is between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. We are in the process of updating the Home Depot listing, as well as our website. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Customer Reviews

C600 Series Ivory Bimetal Single-Pole 22 Amp Cooling or Heating Wall Thermostat is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unacceptable control differential I purchased this (online ship to home) to control a fan that blows air from a room with a wood stove to an adjacent room. I use the cooling mode, i.e. the thermostat closes a contact on rising temperature to start the fan and opens to stop the fan when the wood stove has gone out and the room cools off. that part works OK, however the temperature differential between turn on and turn off is too large. I have been monitoring the temperatures and at the current setting it turns on at 76 deg and turns off at 69 deg. This is too much of a difference. It appears to not be adjustable. I am planning on returning the unit and ordering another one hoping that I got a defective one. You would think the quality would be a little better as it is not particularly inexpensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from cooling thermostat I bought this to turn on ventilation fans in my green house at a set temperature. It does the job. I have not tried the heating application because I already have a heating thermostat. The wiring is a little more complicated for a dual application and requires and additional switch to change between functions. I expected the switch function to be built in, but it is not.
